Haha, honestly, how do you guys have such good players? Do most of them come from ITS, or buying, or starting off with them? I`ve got nothing.
Heh.

Time, and that's about it. Brooker was in my starting line-up, so has had a net on him since season 1 (he was a Mediocre/Feeble 17yo), while Verma was a season 3 youth pull, I think.

Anyone got any valuations for me, then?

Thanks for the timing tip, Scaly.

Tedstone and Canning were both ITS YP's for me, I just happened to have the net space handy to be able to have Canning on 4-5 nets for three seasons or so.

Got a mixture myself, Two of my prodigies are ITS YPs. One even threatened to get into the Indian U-19 team, but then his fielding let him down..:(. And two of them I bought, and just trained up.

Thorp started out as a feeb-prof-worthless, he's now comp-rem-comp. Just time really..

And what do you guys think of this guy. Forgot I had a bid on him, and I think I got ripped off.

What are the players in the U-19 teams usually? Just a YP who has been put on 8 nets or something insane?
Players like this usually make the Under 19 side. I think his been on 4 to 6 nets most of his career. Not 100% sure, im sure Andy will be able to to tell you.

Suryakant Hitish - 19 yo, BT Rating=42,325
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, invigorated
A destructive player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: wonderful Concentration: strong
Bowling: proficient Consistency: superb
Fielding: feeble

Basically most players need to be around wonderful to make a Under 19 side.

The Indian one is just about getting a decent YP at the start of the season i.e. comp stam, resp primary, comp secondary and giving him two primary nets from 17 until he's 19 and maybe a fitness/fielding net. He'd be approx. wonderful-prof by the time he hit 19 and that'd get you into the U19s.

I'm hoping my guy Taylor who's almost strong-resp will be something like that in 26/7 weeks time. Missed a trick with Ferrell because I didn't have the nets free so he's only going to be halfway to strong by the end of the season, and by the time he hits 19 I would hope he'll be quality-ish.

Speaking of which, could you tell me how close he is please SP:

Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 8,767
Wages: £627 p/w
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: woeful
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: respectable Consistency: respectable
Fielding: worthless

He's been getting a couple of nets for a couple of weeks but I'm thinking he was rock-bottom before I started the training?

No idea of how far he is now, but yes, he would've been very much rock bottom respectable.

In other news, I need some pitch advice for my game next round, with our comparative ratings something like this:
Code:
                Magical Ponies My Bloody Valentine
Top Order: mediocre proficient
Middle Order: strong proficient
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: superb proficient
Spin Bowling: proficient quality
Fielding: woeful woeful
I'm obviously leaning towards something to help out Canning, but what pitch would probably be best for that (he's RFM, for the record)?

Cracked would be best if your confident that his seamers wont run through your batting line up. Green is good for seamers, but spinners do ok usually and batsmen usually go better then bowlers who they are a levels or so higher.

From my experiences they work out something like this:

Green: Seamers (+1), Batsmen (0 to -1), Spinners (0 to -1)
Cracked: Seamers (+2), Spinners (0 to +1), Batsmen (-1)

Andy, I'd be inclined to go with one of the more batting-friendly pitches, possibly Flat, as that's not quite as comically benign as H+F.

But I reckon That your top order is going to struggle against a Prof Seam attack on a wicket which is doing a bit, and that in turn could put additional pressure on your middle order. Your middle order is only one level better than his seam, and two worse than his spin. I'm presuming that his Spin is artificially high, as it's one player, but I also reckon that Canning contributes a lot towards your Strong middle order, possibly making that too look slightly better than it really is?

On a batting-friendly pitch his seam superiority over your top order will be negated - Basically reducing the match to a slug-fest between your bowlers and his batsmen. If the other four can bottle it up on Def or V.Def, then there's a chance that Canning, on ATT, could run through them on a Flat, especially if he's got some overs left at the death.

Just my thoughts anyway! Later, Trev

i feel the need to add that players like that need to have better than competent stamina if they are going to make it into the u19s. i think that strong is more or less the minimum,,,

in other news, ian patterson will sell in a few hours. i'm selling him because i don't want a side with 3 spinners in it. patterson has proved an excellent purchase. paid 1.63mil about 67 days ago. bidding currently is at 3.38mil. thats a heathly profit. now all i need is for the bidding to go bizerk in the morning like it did for that other superb 18yo the other day. 4mil+ seems like a realistic and likely figure atm. now all i need is for a bowler to be listed, preferably soonish. anybody with an nzer, around the age of 18 who is strong+, i'm interested,

i also bought this guy earlier today for 2.24 mil. this gives me 5 strong+ batsmen. obviously not the depth in batting the scaly piscine enjoys, but its still a luxury i've got that not many bt sides can claim to have -

Well I only have 5 strong+ batsmen, but with a prof-exceptional and a nearly proficient 17yo. Should have 6 superb+ batsmen by middle of next season tho, all with respectable+ concentration, plus a strong-sensational. Will be looking good when I can afford to upgrade Tynan.

Batsman looks a decent buy, sublevels are low like you'd expect but there's a bit there.

I have five strong plus batsmen, it doesn't make much difference for me. Mind you most have average to crap secondaries.
