They should give 100%, but the fact that they don't is making a lot of fans (including me) value club football higher than international football. Afterall, following your club is week-in-week-out, whereas you have the odd international game here and there. And clubs (and by extension, fans) pay the wages.Country should always come before Club though. Anyone that doesn't give 100% whilst playing for their country doesn't deserve to be picked tbh.
So who is the best man for the job then? One more thing we're missing is a decent manager.
I said it at the time and will continue to say it - he should never have got the job.
How many games has he been in charge for now, and we're still awaiting a semi-decent performance.
Best...post...ever!!!The players should take some responsibility, but the fact that McClaren is so soft is partially why they keep churning out half-hearted performances. Also playing players out of position means England's play is going to be disjointed at best anyway.
Players must play in their rightful positions, players must be accountable.
Martin O'Neill. So who is the best man for the job then?
So you think he will stay? He's done ok. Surprising lack of basic control at times for a Brazilian, but he's a big old unit & we do lack a bit of physical presence sometimes. The fans have taken to him because he always seems to give 100%, which is not something you could've always said about Reyes.
Seconded.Martin O'Neill.
Always has been - always will be.

Not saying I'm an expert, but considering he is Northern Irish, wouldn't he rather top himself then coach England?Seconded.
It could be the first step of reverse-colonialisation.Not saying I'm an expert, but considering he is Northern Irish, wouldn't he rather top himself then coach England?
There is an Italian World Cup winning coach that is free if you want him.
It's entirely dependent on money for me. If Real ask for much more than £5m I'd say it's probably no-go.So you think he will stay?
O'Neill was actually interviewed for the job so I'd say that's fairly strong evidence he'd probably manage us ahead of the self-immolation option. Not saying I'm an expert, but considering he is Northern Irish, wouldn't he rather top himself then coach England?

Hiddink should've been given the job as soon as they knew he was available. So who is the best man for the job then?
I fear it was an appointment to appease the media rather than to get a decent manager. The fact that the FA F-wits found McClaren more impressive says more about their acumen than I ever could.
That I agree with.Hiddink should've been given the job as soon as they knew he was available.
Thought he was signed for the Russians fairly early doors tho? Don't get me wrong tho, he was my preferred choice all the way along.Hiddink should've been given the job as soon as they knew he was available.
The Northern Irish are the ones who wanted to stay a part of Britain, so they probably wouldn't be all that fussed. Not saying I'm an expert, but considering he is Northern Irish, wouldn't he rather top himself then coach England?

O'Neill's an Ulster Catholic, so it's debateable. The Northern Irish are the ones who wanted to stay a part of Britain, so they probably wouldn't be all that fussed.
He took that job after he was asked for an interview, which was fairly early, but certainly before the World Cup etc.Thought he was signed for the Russians fairly early doors tho? Don't get me wrong tho, he was my preferred choice all the way along.
You know, I think God's got more important people to help than a bunch of overpaid nancy boys who cbf doing their jobs properly. Like people living in poverty, or who have AIDs or cancer. That sort of thing. What can i say, but God help our football team...
