What makes then think £20m would be enough to get Fabregas?

I'd think that Arsenal would laugh at them for that sort of offer.
Probably would tbh. If he chucked in somebody like Walter Samuel then it would make it interesting, but it won't happen. I mean Thierry Henry has been linked with a move there in the past.

I wish I were a football journalist, because then you can make up these transfer rumours, or at least report the ones that the agents make up :p

I reckon you could double that offer & still not get Cesc. He's 19, an international & on a seven-year contract. Completely brilliant too, obv.

Rosicky possibly more likely, but he's done ok this year. Unfair to compare him to Pires really as Robert was always more of a goalscorer. The rumours I've heard would suggest Hleb & Ljungberg could be off for the right price tho.

What do you think about your on-loan Brazilian by the name of Julio Bapista?

Unless Robinho will get his Spanish passport (assuming he isn't sold) at the end of the season (unless it happens next year), I don't see how he can be fitted into the club under the no more then 3-non EU players rule (and if Fabio Capello isn't sacked, which I think is highly unlikely). Never liked Robinho tbh, always thought he was one of the most over-rated players out there. I guess the fact that he came from Santos and is Brazilian people consider him to be great.

Ljungberg has been linked with Inter in the past, and I guess with Luis Figo off to earn the big bucks in Saudi Arabia, any central/and or right sided midfielder is linked with the club.

He's done ok. Surprising lack of basic control at times for a Brazilian, but he's a big old unit & we do lack a bit of physical presence sometimes. The fans have taken to him because he always seems to give 100%, which is not something you could've always said about Reyes.

Ha, ha! There was actually quite an interesting article in The Guardian on Thursday about who Anglo-Jewish football fans should root for in the game. Link.

They came down more-or-less universally for England tho. :p
Very interesting article and it's something I've thought about many times, but if they were playing Australia in cricket, the answer would always be Australia every time, don't even have to think about it tbh. Probably in soccer as well, not so sure about that one though. And lol at GIMH.

Seriously why do 4,000 England fans actually go to Israel to watch the match. Why waste all that money on over-paid,prima donnas who let's be honest play vomit-inducing football?.

Not too fussed either away about the result. Not too bad, not great either. McClaren really needs to stop being so unbelievably soft.

Not to bad against an awful Israel team?.God,England's expectations are low now.Now wonder seeing how dire you're team is.
Bit rich coming from a Scot.

Anyway, didn't watch the match, but I can't say as the result was a surprise. Beginning to run out of patience with McClaren.
