Nothing to do with Money.... India despite their loss are a classy side...Its bad luck and a few unlucky decisions could've changed the game easily.

Asian Cricket is in severe strife , IMO with Woolmer's death and Pak getting knocked out. It cannot afford India also leaving World Cup.

Bangladesh will have their day in the future, IMO this is not the ideal time ....I hope and pray that India make it... As a Cricket Fan and Sri Lankan I will be very disappointed if India do not make it...

I believe Bangladesh have earnt their place in the Super 8 this time and deserve it more than India do.

Sure India are the better team at the moment but Bangladesh outplayed them and for that they should be rewarded in my opinion.

so bangladesh isn't asian? its sports man...thats the fun of it....i say both bangladesh and ireland have earned because thats the way the format was made...it wont be easy for any team and its fair too because there wasn't any forfeits or rained out games....india could have made a difference or could have...the same way bangladesh/ireland can or cant make a difference in the super 8

So guys as disappointed as I am today, and tbh I almost cried today and I am sure so did 1 billion others, we must look into the future. Let's see how we can improve Indian cricket.

Sri Lanka played really well where's india just choked under pressure for the millionth time.
As i've already said in another thread Sachin, Sehwag, Gangully, Harbhjan and AA need to go soon from ODI team.
Sehwag should not be allowed anywhere near either teams.
Sachin should consider retiring gracefully from test cricket before he eventually gets rested after the Eng series.

Was really looking forward to watching india in AUs but right now i couldn't give a toss.

Dont think he deserves this kind of a treatment after contributing a lot to the teaam except WC. Oh god! The worst is to happen and its better that Tendulkar recognises himself and retire as Astle did.

I wouldn't back Tendulkar for captain. At the risk of sounding highly disrespectful to the great man, let me say that India have already had a huge problem dropping one captain from the team altogether, don't want to line themselves up for a repeat of that (touchwood). The captain should ideally be someone most assured of his place in the side.

In the end it turned out to be an excellent score. I am glad to see the arrogant Indians finally put in their place. I hope Sri Lanka go onto to win this World Cup.

To be honest, I never see the Indians gloating when Sri Lanka, Bangladesh or even Pakistan to an extent do badly.

But I do see a lot of fans from the smaller subcontinental nations wanting to rub it in when Big brother India does poorly.

Says a lot more about your type than the Indians.

Are you kidding. He is NOT a great man. Just an very ordinary cricketer tha last few years milking the moolah. Where do you think people like Dhoni learn how to be distracted and make money instead of playing for the country. What a shame !

really because when india lost to bangladesh...they were saying at least pakistan lost to ireland....its making stereo type based on one person...dont know many people from bangladesh or sri lanka that gloat from india doing bad....

why are there so much talk about ganguly and tendulkar being dropped? ganguly made like 50's like almost every game since he came back....tendulkar isn't the reason india lost today...everyone did bad today why blame it on few people...drop the whole team then because it was the whole team(bar the bowlers) who lost it

The difference between India winning and losing yesterday was Muralitharan.

I still felt when Sehwag was well set and Dravid was getting into his groove that India had a decent chance of coming out victorious despite the ever increasing run rate.
But that one 'Magic Murali' over where he confused Sehwag with a leg-side doosra and a couple of fizzing offbreaks leading to his inevitable edge to slip was the gamebreaker. Then when he outfoxed Dhoni with a topspinner it was game,set and match.

We all know Murali will always exert an influence with ball in hand. But IMO he had an almost equal influence out on the field. He took a marvellous catch to dismiss Ganguly and nearly took a ripper to get rid of Uthappa (I think ?). His ground fielding was panther-like and significantly better than his usually sluggish displays. So what prompted a huge change in Murali's fielding ??

Apparently, Tom Moody said Murali wasn't good enough to field in the inner circle, and that obviously prompted Murali to work hard on his fielding and the way he was jumping around today you would have thought he was Kaif in disguise.

If Murali a 30+ yo veteran, who isn't a natural fielder can field like that why can't Chappell instill the same sort of discipline into India's fielders. Sure they fielded OK today, but it was ordinary against Bangladesh and I just can't see Sehwag & co. getting worked up if Chappell commented on his fielding.

I know this is a big blow to the economics of the cup. I know this will ruin cricket for several years to come. I know it'll probably be a huge blow to cricket interest in India. I know there are millions of people in India throwing things at the TV or going into mindless despair right now.

Anyway, cannot believe how everyone swallowed all the bs the Dravid-Chappell combine was spewing when all the bs experiments and failures were going-on. It's Ok to LOSE they said, it's all in prepration for the WORLD CUP. That's the only thing that counts they said. it's all learning they said.

Now they say: 'It's only a game and people shouldn't get angry'. Watching Dravid as captain is like seeing someone going thru personal torture. Watching Ganguly as captain - well, he loved it, enjoyed it, basked in it. Poor Dravid - I feel bad for what he has become due to stupid Chappell
