Yikes at Trevor's story. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Jeez, Sam, but that's all getting a bit highbrow ;)

Seriously though, that's a pretty shocking story -- really puts the boot into human nature.

Trev -- what injuries did you suffer? Anything much broken, and are you properly on the mend now?

I'd make a witty retort, but all the Latin I can remember revolves around Matella being in the hall. Cerberus est canis and all that. Bloody hell, but my schooldays seem a long time ago...

Nasty Story Trev, sorta makes you lose faith in Human Nature. Anyway, good to see you're back on deck :)

Got this chap for 2k on the TM. Needed a cheap allrounder to fill in when resting players and he should do the job for a while.

Thank you for all your kind words, I'm not too bad tar, about the most annoying injury is a broken little finger, so I'm trying to avoid typing words containing 'P's and apostrophes (Ouch!) Though at the moment It's - (D'oh, there I go again!) - hard to sit in a car turning left, or to lift my arm above shoulder height, so I've got a bit of a race against time to be fit for our first match of the season on 31st March. I think I'll probably be okay to bat, even if I'm not too sharp on dealing with the shorter ball - It just means that the world will have to do without my unique variety of slow left-arm filth for a while, as I can't use my leading arm that much. Though in practice, (Before my meeting with Juliet Bravo's jealous lover), I did bowl 5/0/18/1, no mean feat indoors, and I creamed an on-drive for six to the back wall - Though if I'm totally honest with myself, I had intended on flicking it through mid-wicket but ended up being horribly early on the shot - Not that I'll ever admit to that in the presence of my team-mates.

But the best thing you can all do to make me feel better is to bid on Glen Zonke, £800K and cheap at half the price.

As for Latin, Puer molestus Trev in train track descendbat or something like that! Has anyone else noticaed that there's an alarming amount of us on here who went to public bording schools?

BTW, has anyone else noticed that the ticker thingie has cured the annoying habit BT had of logging you out after twenty minutes? And the Combo boxes for ITS are a big improvement, thanks Adam for taking that up on my behalf.

Oh and finally Nibbs, given that your team is already strong enough to hold its own in your division, I wouldn't bother piddling around with £6M Rems, which will only have a marginal benefit to your performances. I'd bide your time and sink all £11M into a super-player when the right one comes available. Not only will another Sensational+ player drive your side onto the next level, they'd also probably represent better value for money. And how about binning Vermark, (If that's how you spell him)? You could probably get £4.5/£5M and sink the money into a better rounded Qual trainee.

Later, Trev

trevor, can i just add that your story made me pretty uneasy and sick inside. where is the justice in this world? drugs cheats win olympics golds, when other athletes who were far more deserving die in car crashs and don't even get their big chance. meanwhile the disabled get **** upon by the people who are suppose to protect them. whilst the cowards are able to get away with this crime. this is a travesty. i'm sure karma will come around and get them sooner or later

Current Balance: £8,619,165
Projected balance at next Update: £11,074,030

which brings me to my next comment. does anybody think that this guy is worth £6mil? pretty sure he is a low remarkable batsmen, but i will stick him on 1 batting net and 1 keeping net, so that he can eventually replace wheat. if i'm able to sign him for 6mil, that would leave me another 3.5mil to spend elsewhere on another batsmen which would lead to me having 5 trainees. so, £6mil? i'm just not sure. scaly, i think your opinion is needed here.

Looks like you're going for this guy now. He's nothing flash but at least he would become a permament first XI for his whole career. His BTR looks pretty decent, over halfway so there should be some good sublevels there.

I'd have still gone the older gun route myself, but you might have been waiting a while.

Edit: Always nice when they train a guy between being listed and when he's being sold, BTR went up 1353 - that would be require a lot of nets unless it's a form increase.

I'll take a guess at 1 fitness, 2 batting, 1 fielding. Could be more.

I got outbid on Dover at the last minute. Now just to make things really interesting, Newcastle Knights have come and bid 6mil for Morrison. I'd think nothing of it, except we all know how evil Newcastle are. Their endless pockets probably mean attempting to signing Morrison would be a pointless exercise.

And just to add another twist to this transfer saga an exceptional/exceptional batsmen has just been listed, and finally for once their manager has set the price at zero. Now I'm not 100% but I think Morrison will go for around £6.5mil, while Chanderpaul will sell for in the region of £8mil. I guess the main difference I'm trying to take into account here is that if I go for and sign Morrison, the other batsmen that I go out to sign will be a lot better. Plus he still has room for more training. if i sign Chanderpaul I'll have a great batsmen on my side, but I'll also won't have much left over to spend on another batsmen.

So decisions decisions. Just can't decide what my best option is at this stage.

mmmm went fairly cheaply at 5.8 million would have given you the option of getting two similar skilled batsmen/bowlers. An allrounder would be far more valuable than Chanderpaul would be so I would probably recommend that route as it gives you someone to really keep the depth and structure in place while you make changes to your team etc.

I'll go Chanderpaul, you got a gun bowler, now you would have a gun batsmen. You already got the players around them. IMO you probably just need a player like Chanderpaul to take your side to another level. I don't really see the need for you to get a trainee, as your main goal is to get into Div 1 one right, so an older gun is the way to go.

Just my thoughts, fell free to dismiss them.

I'd wait for someone better, he's gonna be pretty unremarkable in a couple of seasons, especially with the calibre of opposition he'll come up against.

Do people rekon i should sell Hogg and replace him?

Adam, I'm wondering the same thing tbh...The main comfort is that he should be reaching a similiar level to waddell in a couple of weeks, provided mod-ash didn't lie to me about morrison being about half way to wonderful batting, and knowing my luck he probably did. Within a season I should also have an improved keeper, with Morrison set to take over Wheat's roll. I'm also happy with the long term benefits this should have for my side. I've still got 4.7mil too.

Haha, has anyone read that 'Ed Weatherall RIP?' thread in England sledging?

Keep Licking that Cricketing Elbow v Scaly Piscine CC (977318)

Since then he hasn't been seen. Its is a fairly strange time to log in on a BT Game day. That would of been to check the start of his game.

By my reckoning, now I believe that Ed is in serious trouble.
Scaly's obviously done something to him.
