Only a matter of time before Spurs scored off one of those crosses from a very dangerous position, albeit it wasn't because they eventually got the final ball right which would have given someone a virtual tap-in.

Good match this.

Boring fact for you, I went to school with one ofthe assistant-referees.

He was a **** then as well.

 **** off. You can't use one season in Europe as an example of how "brilliant" the Premiership is. Just look at last year, for example..
Well done on not reading my post at all. 8-)

Firstly, as I said by saying that I've thought this for some time, I'm not basing it on one season. Nor am I saying our teams are brilliant.

My reasoning has nothing to do with skill - it's the style of football played.

That doesn't mean they don't dive, though, does it?
In a large number it does IMO.

Sure, there are a number of wankers who dive (Robben is IMO by far the worst) but I think footballers are over-criticized for diving. When you're running at speed, the slightest touch can send you flying.

There are plenty of things you can criticize the majority of footballers for - IMO diving is not one of them.

When Hargreaves returns to the starting X1 against Israel it will make a huge difference IMO as Lampard should then be resigned to the bench.
Or maybe Lampard & Hargreaves can form the same mid-field partnership that Lamps & Makele has had, it could finally bring out the best in Lampard.

Last year in the first knockout you had 3 Spanish teams, 3 English teams and 3 Italian teams. In the quarters were 3 Italian, 2 Spanish and 1 English. Semis were 2 spanish, 1 Italian and 1 English. Should we have said conclusively that the Spanish or Italian leagues were much better? Liverpool won in '05 and Man U in '99 but before that you had to go back to Liverpool's win in '84 to find another English team lifting the trophy. Spain's had '06, '02, '00, '98 for example. The Runners Up paints an even more clearer picture.

You can't just say that the English league has been the best for some time (particularly by simply alluding to one season of the Champions League as an example), because it's absolute unsubstantiated bull****.
Well said, but looking at the amount of top players that are being attracted towards the premiership rather than La Liga or Serie A, i think the premiership is gradually becoming a better league than La Liga. But i'll wait until the Champions Laeague is over to make final decision.

Well this seasons big clashes across Europe have come to and end. Arsenal have beaten United twice but yet have been below par in the premiership, Madrid seemed to play much better in the two superclassico matches even though they have again had a disappointing season. While Inter have beaten AC Milan twice & are strolling towards the Serie A crowd.

Inter 2 - AC Milan 1.

Gotta love Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Julio Cruz who I feel is one of the more under-rated strikers in Europe. Not fussed about Adriano anymore, any good bid I feel he will be gone.

Was gutted Chelsea got back in the game, but now I want them to win the replay simply because Chelsea progressing is the only chance of Man U not winning the cup
