Detroit >>>>>>>> Rest of the east.
That's what they were in the regular season last year. In the post season they were ordinary and this year is going to be no different. IMO teams like Cavs,Bulls match up very well with Detroit and may end up beating the Pistons in the playoffs.

Great game between the Cavs and the Mavs. Mavs edge it 95-92 for their 14th straight win. Mavs played sloppy in this game. It shouldn't have been as close as it was. King James put on a show though. He had a spectacular dunk that should make the Sports Center highlights. But like Barkley said in the half-time show, it's like Lebron vs 5 guys. There is no one on that team supporting him. I feel for him. Anyway, happy the Mavs sneak away with the win, sloppy or not.

why don't they waive the rest of the season and the post-season and go straight to the nba finals right now? it's going to be the mavs vs the pistons(i doubt whether the cavs or the bulls can beat them in a 7 game series) and although the pistons are tough, i can't see past the mavs for this year's finals unless some serious injuries occur or something...

Great game between the Cavs & Mavs. It's just the 4th game i've been able to watch all season. The cavs really missed Hughes imo, as when the mavs double & even triple teamed James in the last quarter they really had nothing. Those layup's thats Snow & Wesley missed were awful imo. All the same, i enjoyed the game, as i said, it was only the 4th i've managed to see this season, and the 2nd Cavs game, was good to see LeBron put on a show, same with Dirk, only dissappointment for me was the King James missed those last clutch shots :(

Actually I think Cleveland lost because of Lebron. Yes he did score 39 or something but he missed couple of clutch shots including two free throws. He has been aweful from the line this season and its about time that he works on that. Lebron proved that he is a great talent, but he also proved that he is not there up where the big guys belong.

He has to make those shots..free throws at clutch..consistently to be counted among greats.

And I dont think Cleveland's support guys are as bad as it is made out to be. I somehow doubt all these analysts like Charles Barkley etc say things their sponsors want them to say. I mean how come no one has questioned his free throw skills yet, that's a very important aspect of your game.

Cleveland has Z, Gooden, Hughes, Sasha , Marshall, Snow and I guess it's a pretty good support cast to have.

Very true. Until the Mavs win it all (and that's the only result that would brand this season a success for Dallas), there will be legitimate doubt. Like Anil, I believe they are much better this year. However, the time to to prove all that is in the playoffs. Can't wait! :)

maybe but they are much, much better this year...
I was mainly talking about Pistons. I dont think they are any better this year than they were last year Plus they have got CWebb. Mavs sure are performing better..but I will wait till the post season to make any kind of assumption about them.

You do know Detroit lost last year because Flip Saunders overused his players without giving them any rest? As long as that doesn't happen again this season, Detroit are still fav to win the east.

Beg to differ there. Sure James missed the clutch shots, and i agree that he needs to start making them, but the missed Layup's of Snow & Wesley hurt them more imo, as did what i thought was a harsh charging call on Sasha in the final minute of the 3rd quarter.

The support cast is decent, but they need to step up to the plate more and take some pressure off LeBron in such games as the Mavs game. The fact that LBJ scored 17 more points than the rest of the starting lineup says a lot.

Cavs didn't lose because of LeBron, but because they didn't have their key weapon working for them...the offensive rebounding.

Yeah Right !! So detroit lost it because they were tired, Dallas lost it because Refs were favoring Wade. What happened to giving credit where it is due.

Detroit had the easiest first round in playoffs last year and they didn't looked tired at all. They underestimated Cleveland and had Flip not used his players, they would have been embarrassed by Cleveland who were without Hughes for the most part.

the east as a whole is really weak this year and detroit is the best out of a pack of miami, detroit, washington, cleveland and chicago.....if miami had wade going into the playoffs, they would have stood a decent-to-good chance against any of the other teams but in a 7-game series i can't see any of the others beating detroit....they've got all the experience plus cwebb is really hungry for a ring....that said, i don't think they can win a series against dallas if they make it through from the west as i think they will....

the diesel comes through big-time for the heat as they somehow hold off the pistons despite a pathetic 2nd half....antoine walker was a good sidekick, posey made some important buckets in the 2nd half, everyone else was a no-show for miami, prince and mcdyess made it real close for detroit, lucky for miami mr. big shot had an off night, hamilton had a poor shooting night by his standards and rasheed wallace was out.....

Detroit is an old team...IMO Bulls, Cavs & Heat with Wade are capable of beating the pistons in a seven game series.

I hear denial does that to people.

BTW, nice win for the Cavs over the Raptors :) Lebron on fire with another 36 points, and shooting well from the charity strike with 15-17. Funny, i don't hear turb bleating :p
