Why, exactly? It might not have been an outright lie, but Lampard himself has denied bening punched, so the linesman was obviously wrong. Wenger's only crime is reacting too strongly to what is clearly an injustice.
Where has the linesman said he was sent off for a punch?

Scum like Chief Whingeur cannot go around publicly calling officials liars without any proof.

What you mean apart from during the game when he told the ref to send off Adebayor for punching Bridge?

After the game Bridge denied it was Adebayor, so suddenly it's supposedly Lampard, who wasn't punched at all.

Meanwhile, 2 players are now banned for the same offense, when only one of them should be.

I suggest you read the BBC bit again or once in the first place.

Relevance to what actually happened on the pitch and was actually told live over the radio on Sunday?

Anything after that indicates a change of mind, but of course being blinkered you'd fail to accept that.

Good enough GIMH? Albiet when he was at Man Citeh.
You've got two guys here on CW who support clubs where Greenacre has put them away for fun, and you go back and find a picture of him when he was 12 and at Man City?! :p

He could be wearing a B**ton shirt and I still wouldn't mind ITBT

It's good enough for me Craigos. The world's greatest footballer.

Told live over the radio by who?
Wayne Bridge - relating what he was told about the incident by the ref.

Or are you saying that within 2 minutes of the final whistle he had enough about him to make that up?

Bear in mind that he didn't have enough about him to realise it wasn't a league game.

He would obviously be a bit confused about what's happened in all the chaos, I'd want something better than that before I started calling match officials a liar in public.

Am I misreading things, or is Marc qualifying what Bridge says as reliable due to him being unable to remember whether it was a league or cup match?

What I am saying is that Bridge was interviewed immediately after the game and said that Adebayor was sent off on the linesman's say so for punching Bridge.

He then pointed out that he wasn't hit by Adebayor.

I'm asking why he would say that (and then go on to correctly pinpoint the one who should've been sent off) if it were intentional to get someone else in trouble (seeing as he wasn't entirely on the ball at the time, so was hardly planning anything)

Of course some people will ignore what was said and think that 2 players deserve a 3 match ban for both doing the same thing (that only one of them did)

Adebayor's initial ban was rescinded for the original reason but reinstated for not leaving the pitch. What's so hard to get about that?
