Hayden looks like an awesome bloke, tbh. Perplexes me somewhat that noone likes him.
I'm pretty sure the reason I don't like him is because he looks like a boss I once had. To put it in context, that bloke was one of only two people I've met in my entire life who I've genuinely hated.

The Australian media didn't say that. The NZ media said that the Australian media said that :P

Australia is a hurt team atm, like they were after ashes 05. After that lot of people felt the aussies were finished and their days at the top were numbered, much like a lot of people are feeling atm. But the kind of cricket that the aussies played after ashes 05 proved once again that they are undisputed no.1 side, and i am sure that they would do it again.
Yeah, but when the Test side rebounded, all hands were on deck. By contrast, with the ODI team, our two best players (Lee and Symonds) look like playing no part in the World Cup. Additionally, another one of our best players in past years (McGrath) has deteriorated quite notably in ODI's. Granted, we'll be right up there in the WC, but I don't think we'll see the team rebound as spectacularly as the Test side did, post-Ashes 2005.

Lol @ at your "our two best players" statement  If Ponting and Gilchrist were out for the W.C I'm quite sure you would have said they were the two best.

Having said that, i'm not doubting Simmo and Bing are two of your better players

Hussey has laid claims to be included in that club too, for mine

Surely Lee is one of the top two best players for Australia in ODI cricket, purely because the bowling attack looks so incredibly ordinary without him in it. Yes, it can look ordinary with him there too, but more often than not, he's a notch above the other options - even present-moment McGrath.

It's not too outrageous. Lee's clearly our best bowler. And, as a package, Symonds is our most valuable player. Didn't seem to miss Ponting's or Gilchrist's batting in NZ.

It could be argued that they missed them greatly in the 1st game, which gave the Black Caps the momentum (and belief) to win the next two games

Correctly put there and when it looks ordinary (attack) then it's not just the fault of Lee and it's actually the lack of variety in the bowling .

What can you say, all great people have the name 'Craig' as their first or middle names. Actually last year I read an article in the paper and they considered it to be a '***y' name.

There you go
Graeme Smith - argument refuted.
