Hayden's 181*, how good was it really?

But NO ONE has EVER scored 200 in an ODI.
Thats a vey good point  Hayden can't be criticised because he lifted the total to 346 which against most teams would be enough. Hayden set it up well for a decent total which Australia should have really deserved to defend. I actually enjoyed McMillans 6s more than Haydens but Hayden always looks in control and on top of teams ussually from the starts of innings but due to recent form it started later. A very good knock. There wasnt really that much of a chance of him scoring 200 really

this is true but not often on such a flat deck and small ground has a batsmen batted for the full 50 overs. theres plenty of times players wud have made 200 if they stayed in the full 50. ex. herchelle gibbs against australia last year, lou vincents 172 vs zimbabwe and of course saeed anwars 194 where he got out with still a few overs 2 spare...

very impressive it wasn't total destruction from the start a la Anwar's 194, Jayasuriya 189* or Ganguly 183 but good enough for me. Especially the latter part when he batted with a runner, he seemed to be hitting off the middle.

That's ridiculous logic you got going there.

Now, then, I wonder why that might have been......................
I enjoyed both innings very much and thought Haydens was much better over-all however all Haydens sixes were placed in nearly the exact same spot everytime whereas McMillan had style and played his shots for six beautifully.

Because we dicked the Aussies 3-0, with each game breaking numerous records?
I was thinking along the lines of "McMillan's sixes helped you to do such a thing".

The point was that aesthetic beauty is rather unlikely to have been any influence on whose sixes you enjoyed more.
