**Official** Chappell-Hadlee Series

And if Stuart Clark eventually replaces Lee in the World Cup squad, he should not be looked on as any sort of saviour, despite the unresearched hysteria pedalled by sections of the Sydney media.

Clark has conceded an average of 6.4 runs an over, more than a run a ball, during his past 10 limited-overs matches.
An excellent quote from this article that sums up the Clark situation IMO.

昨日の試合は最高だったわ。

PS: Jonoはカッコウイイ。ホンマにHEROだ

:p
Well Jono is a respectable person and he doesn't seem to be like that . I mean he is our elder and he certainly deserves respect . Infact we all do deserve some respect !!!

Gilly at no.7 is not a bad idea since he is 35 and its not easy on him to keep for 50 overs and straight away go in and open the innings. Atm i think he believes if he scores a quick 30 then his job done, he should try to build a big innings which he is not doing for some time now.

The main problem with putting Gilchrist down the order IMO is that with the sort of scores we have to post these days, our problem is really with acceleration at the start of the innings, a lot of the time. Gilchrist has a wonderful ability to get the team away to a good start, while we've already good Hussey, Clarke, Symonds and whoever else happens to be set to finish it off a the end. He might make more runs down the order (though I doubt it), but he's of more value to the side at the top.

Geoff lawson really is being stupid, what has he seen with clark's bowling at odi level to suggest that he would have made a difference to the C-H TROPHY results. If i am not wrong clark was the part of the bowling line that conceded 434 v/s RSA and 332 v/s NZ (3rd game of C-H TROPHY last year).

Australia is a hurt team atm, like they were after ashes 05. After that lot of people felt the aussies were finished and their days at the top were numbered, much like a lot of people are feeling atm. But the kind of cricket that the aussies played after ashes 05 proved once again that they are undisputed no.1 side, and i am sure that they would do it again.

FRAZ obviously accounting for the Saffie choke factor. Dunno who I'm picking really, I favored the Sri Lankans in the Champions Trophy and got burned, but they're certainly a chance. The Aussies are no certainty, particularly with a few key players under injury clouds. My sentimental favorite is India, just because it seems such an impossible dream, and I'd probably get a bit of a kick out of the pro-Chappell anti-Chappell fights both during and after. Would be monumental if the South Africans finally won the big one, and I wouldn't begrudge them it, but I kinda have this desire to see them stuff it up again, just to see if it can keep happening. :)

I hope they do - if they win, Fergiemack wins the Great Northern Derby and Monkey King wins the Auckland Trotting Cup, then I'm $900 richer from a $5 bet.

I just read an article where it said that some Australian media were blaming Hayden for the loss after his 181*. What ludicracy that is. If he hadnt have started slow he probably wouldn't have been comfortable enough to go and whack the ball. He scored 181* and took the score to a very highly defendable 346. The media of full of trash. If it wasn't for Hayden the score could have been much different and a lot easier to chase. If it was anyones fault for Australia losing it was there bowlers and possibly field placements.

Absolutely. I can't stand Hayden, but it was the fault of the bowlers that Australia lost, not his.

Hayden looks like an awesome bloke, tbh. Perplexes me somewhat that noone likes him. Also I haven't seen much crap from the media about his knock, actually I haven't seen anything at all.
