Watson in blistering touch. That square drive off Gillespie was spectacular.

Hard to believe that he's not in the top order all the time really. Australia would be so much better as a team if he consistently batted like this as well as filled in the 5th bowler spot, given the quality finishers we have lower in the order. It's not as though he's wasting deliveries.

Hmm the best average in the current bowling attack is Stephen Flemings' averaging 28.00 and bb of 1-8.

Champion, hope the critics jump off for a second. Love how he's smiling after every boundary like a schoolboy.

Hope Watson really goes on with this. In a great position to make a big score, and looking really comfortable now. This is probably the best innings he's played at international level. The 50 in the CT final wasn't bad either, but that was in a small chase so there wasn't much pressure on. Most of his other 50+ scores have been streakier.

Hot day though, apparently, so fitness might come into it, especially later in the day if he has to bowl.

Hope Watto's innings so far has FINALLY proved to the selectors that he got to bat in the top order whether opening or in the top 5.
