You do realise that he scored 1200 runs at 60 with a strike rate of 80 in the last county season - that's hardly a dud and he would certainly walk into most international teams at present
As for his bowling, stems from arm position - past perpendicular mean wrist and head are completely in wrong position.
Unbelievable that he comes from same state as Warne but the problem is that, as captain, he refuses to bowl himself. He was a better bowler 3 years ago I'm afraid.
You could be right about the bowling. Ive not seen enough to have strong thoughts on the technique.
As for the batting. I dont think he is close to walking into most international teams.
Firstly, he still has a career mid-30s FC average
Secondly, His last season in CC was very nice but the following guys all scored more runs at a better average than White. Crawley, Lehmann, Goodwin, Matt Walker, Anthony McGrath, Ramprakash, Chris Rogers (who?
), HD Ackerman, Flower, Hamish Marshall and Klusener. It was a good season but hardly unique or special.
Thirdly, He has 7 FC 100s in 110 innings. That is a poor ratio. I look for good players to have a 1 in 10 ratio. He is a long way from that.
I just dont think he is a genuine specialist batsman for Aus in the future and certainly not the present. We are used to the batting talent being produced by Australia being of a higher standard.
