And I know this going to sound like a rant, but as good as he is as a bowler, I cannot stand Nathan Bracken for the life of me, when will he get rid of that shocking hair cut, what is it? It's not a mullet, so a mop of hair from a guy is too tight to get a hair cut. .
His gf is a hair dresser and she wants his hair like that because it apparently makes him look younger. Major tool. He looks like a rat anyway.

What a drumming. Kudos to NZ. Dunno what's wrong with us. Oh wait yes I do, we're playing half the Australia A squad.

NZ should win tomorrow with, effectively, our World Cup side playing and a severely weakened Australian one.
Well for once my theory over New Zealand came off, great win today that will most definitely boost confidence for the remainder of the series and the World Cup.

EDIT: Any ideas as to why the quote isn't properly quoted?

And, IIRC, NZ's A team gave the Aus A team a run for their money quite a few times in the Top End series.

Plenty of time between now and the first World Cup match, really. And even more time till the "real stuff" starts. The bigger concern is having everyone mentally fresh and physically fit in time for the first game. There's also the warm-up games in the WI to worry about before then anyways, plenty o' time.

The balancing act with Watson is tough, and I feel as though the selectors have missed an opportunity in the 1st game. They should have given Watson an opportunity up the order, just to spend time in the middle, and hopefully after that get him re-accustomed to the role that he is likely to play in the WC.

I agree... puts less pressure on him with his bowling if he's got some runs, and would give him more confidence. Cheer him up a bit too... looks like a real confidence player.

Genuine LMAO @ Watson at 7, yet Haddin at 3 and White at 6.

Genuine LOL @ Watson and Johnson's figures on what was being described by posters here as a wicket from hell.

Well done NZ. Good win, but I think if you took out 5 first XI players (Ponting, Gilly, Clarke, Lee, Symonds) of any team, they'll lose to most other teams. Whether they'd lose this badly is another thing mind you. It must be said however that Bond is one of the biggest legends, so good to watch. Can't think of any cricket fan who doesn't like him.

Oh, and I think someone should have a word with Hayden regarding his ego when batting. He does stupid things too often.

tbh when you lose 20/22 every win means a hell of a lot, and considering all the injuries NZ has had compared with Aus over the last 15 years I don't think many people care about the injuries...

Never intended to take anything away from NZ, especially since this really is a slap in the face to those ****y supporters who believe that half the Australian domestic players would walk into most other teams.

Sorry for the lack of sympathy but if Australia had thrashed England by 10 wickets with 5 of our best players out I don't expect we'd get any sympathy. The one thing this match proves is that the Aussies don't have the depth of four years ago. They are like evrybody else now - take away their best players and they are as vulnerable as anyone.

What depth did they have four years ago? I know it wasn't exactly four years ago and it was Tests, but remember how Australia struggled at home to India when they had Warne and McGrath out most/all of the series?

So no genuine LOL @ Watson and Johnson going at 6-8 an over on what was being described as a wicket where 150 was par?

:p
haha tbh no... cause that was just nasty.... felt sorry for both of them. McGrath & Bracken warmed Vincent & Fleming up, then Watto & Johnson copped the brunt of it

No doubt that Fleming and Vincent had plenty of time at the crease by the time those two got to bowl, but on this wicket, was a batsman ever really 'set'? Or was the pitch just exaggerated when Australia were collapsing? When you bowl crap you get hit, on flat wickets or helpful ones.

As far as I'm concerned, NZ just bowled excellently on a wicket which no doubt was tough for batting, but wasn't a 150 wicket. 185-200 was par for the course IMO, with 220-230 possible. Its not like the pitch got much easier to bat on either, as the commentators (on the radio) pointed out , as it didn't dry out as much as NZ would have hoped.

Really one thing i am also very mad about is hayden's ego, he needs to give some respect to good bowling and play every ball according to its merit rather than finding stupid ways to get out.
Bowlers all over the world have realized that 6 or 7 dot balls to hayden and he is sure to give them a chance, before the world cup he needs to get rid of this attitude of his.

Watson MUST go up the other for the second ODI, really thought the selectors got the idea in Malaysia & India that he was better suited up the order, no they seem to have gotten a brain wave.

Hayden
Jaques
Watson
Hodge
Hussey
Haddin
White
Hogg
Bracken
Tait
McGrath

Will be down on confidence but hopefully Australia can level the series up.
