Seriously though, not sure what to make of this. Any loss of overs not resulting in the end of the game is a disaster for Australia, as there's no way we'll successfully chase 7 or 8 an over with no wickets left to get.

so if this match gets washed out, we go the adelaide, but then is there a third match, as a tied series generally goes to the holder of the trophy, but there is no holder of the trophy, though akin with that drawn champions trophy final when there is no holder it is a drawn series.

Mmmm well Australia have to go to NZ so I guess it would be a drawn series, when was the last time this series had a drawn finals series ?

Worth starting a post-mortem already I think though. I personally blame the dark green uniforms - the Aussie players are confused and think they're either Pakistan, South Africa or Bangladesh...

Presumably they do something based on net run rates or similar...

Haha, I'm actually really annoyed about this rain. Surprised myself that I don't really care about Australia being likely to lose the game. I just want to see the chase continue and not be washed out or reduced to a 100 off 12 overs farce.

Right, here we go again. Another bad of rain, another batch of DL calculations which will now massively favour England because we have Australia five-down and D/L works on average batting line ups, not ones with specialist batsmen at 7. Extra overs will get ratcheted up at a ridiculous rate from here. The following numbers will be 1/2 out as my copy of the program is a couple of years old and the parameters have changed a little since and I don't have the updated settings details...

40: 225 (6.17)
36: 217 (7.02)
32: 207 (8.17)
28: 193 (9.77)
24: 176 (12.65)

Not sure what I want to happen more, this rain to finish sharpish and England to finish them off, or for it to be rained off and then we just thrash em again at Adelaide. :p

I'm 10 minutes drive from the SCG, and it's absolutely pouring down with rain here..... it could save Australia....

I daresay any remote chance of an Australian win will be gone if play resumes at any stage.

True, I was really enjoying the challenge facing these two men playing for a spot in the WC squad, the pressure is intense
