After disappointing Bangladesh series, Scots have regrouped well in the World Cricket league. Beating Kenya in their backyard is not picking apples.

These six nations are producing some exciting display in the field.

Better than matches involving England in the CB series ;)

Last matches of the round robin today.

Scotland are involved in a meaningless match against Bermuda, which they should win easily to keep their 100% record intact.

Kenya need to beat Canada to book their place in the final, and are 140/4 after 32 overs. Should Canada win, they can still make the final themselves.

In the third game, The Netherlands need to beat the disappointing Irish to keep their hopes alive. The match has been reduced to 46 overs per side, and the Dutch are 22/0 after 4.3, using their standard batting plan. Zuiderent anchors (7 off 19), Reekers swings (10 off 9).

If the Dutch and Canada both manage to win today, the side with the best NRR of those two will qualify for the final. Obviously I feel the Dutch need their revenge against the Scots and I therefore hope hell freezes over today ;)

The Netherlands 58/0 after 8.3
Reekers on 38 4x4 2x6 24b
en Zuiderent on 15 2x4 28b

very solid start! and I like it, hopefully Holland will finally make a big score and bowl the Irish out cheaply.

Yet another close finish in the making, Ireland need 53 runs from 7 overs against the Dutch with 5 wickets in hand. They seemed to be cruising to their target during a good partnership between Porterfield and Morgan, but 3 wickets have fallen in the last 2 overs to tilt the scales somewhat.

favourites?
Kenya and Ireland OR Scotland...
Dutchies to finish 3rd/4th

my prediction:
1.Kenya
2.Ireland
3.Netherlands
4.Scotland
5.Canada
6.Bermuda
not so bad!
thought Ireland would do batter, abysmal tournament!
Holland did well
Scots performed above my expectations.

A bit surprised at how poor Ireland were, i guess it shows how much they relied on Ed Joyce in the past. Good signs for Kenya, they are really getting back on track. Scotland are looking pretty solid and will be hard to beat.

Netherlands and Canada have some postivies signs coming from this series. Not sure if either will be able to push the big boys anytime soon. But they are building (importing in Canada case) some pretty good sides

Bermuda well atleast there side is full of home grown players. Too bad they are all very old players. Considering they were cannon flodder for most of this series outside one game. Im not looking forward to their matches in the WC. 500 anyone?

It was an easy ride for Kenya in all matches except against Scots.

Will be cheering for Scots in the final.

Go Scots go :D

What this tournament has shown is that Kenya, Scotland, The Netherlands and Ireland are quite evenly matched. With the exception of Kenya vs.The Netherlands (which had a lot to do with very different pitch conditions between the innings) and Kenya vs. Scotland (The Scots with their best performance ever?), all matches between these four teams were pretty close to ridiculously nailbitingly close. This imo means that Kenya have fallen back somewhat, and the three European sides have really improved.

Canada can reach this level but are too inconsistent. Rubbish performances against the Dutch and Kenya, and a brillliant chase against the Irish.

Bermuda are one tier lower. They had their big tournament when it mattered (and when the draw was heavily in their favour), and so they qualified for the WC and ODI status, but it really should have been Namibia playing here and in the WC.

And I agree with Vimes, "Luck of the Irish" was redefined this tournament. There is a very, very fine line between 5th and 1st, as they have shown. As a Dutchie, I'm again smarting today about the close loss to the Scots which means they now play the final instead of the Dutch.
