That's a fairly vindictive and pointless opinion. Once teams get ODI status they should keep it indefinitely, only if they you get a situation like Zimbabwe should it be under threat.Personally i don't think Kenya have fallen that far really, they have got back to where they were a couple years ago IMO. Its just that the likes of Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland have improved so much. Kenya wont make the semis of the WC again, but i can see them being competitive like they were a couple years ago. From what i saw in this tournment Kenya just did enough to get over the line, outside one brilliant performance from the Scots.
The only problem for all these sides is that Bangladesh have improved so much, as shown by their performances against Scotland. But i can see all these four side beating Zimbabwe on their day. I reckon all five sides pretty close now.
Bermuda the sooner they lose their ODI status the better. Hopefully Namibia exposure in South Africa will help them take their game to another level. So they don't repeat the same mistakes they did a couple years ago. Mind you like Bermuda both have very old sides, Namibia have a few more youngsters coming through. But the reason why they didn't qualifly was the fact that they didn't really step up in ICC Trophy.
I can see where your coming from, but really if your going to give Bermuda ODI status forever, you might as well give every team that plays cricket in some form. Either there is a standard you have to play at or everyone just gets it regardless of their ability. Also i think you'll find the situation in Bermuda interms of the standard of their cricket is worse then Zimbabwe and by some distance. The quality of cricket Bermuda is playing would make Zimbabwe look like Australia, in comparsion. That's a fairly vindictive and pointless opinion. bermuda will lose their odi status along with the rest of the odi assocites in 2009. and if they want go get it back they will prove it by being the top 6 in thw world cup qualifier. that is a better system imo that just handing out parmanent odi status. if they still deserve in in 2 years they will earn it back if dont (likely for bermuda) they will lose it and some other deserving team will earn it. and thank god bermuda isn't in the aussie's group in the world cup...
Best attempt to impersonate chris.hinton?
the last system of giving parmenant odi status came under fire like in back 2002 and they thought of this better imo system. kenya had parmanant odi status but they didn't really get to play much in bettweens the world cups (may be few months before) they didn't get much chances playing with the test teams or the other associates. so now they have 5 other teams they can play. countries can improve if they put affort into it, they dont have to be scared of being cut if they are good. there is no axe hovering over their necks. its more of a test every 2 years, if you fail someone else gets a chance. why waiste time and money on teams that are not good enough.good teams dont have to worry about anything while bad teams have to pick up their games. they can make long term strategies and be confident that they will make the top 6 again come 2009. whats wrong with this? the world cricket league system is the best thing that happened for associates in years.
What's ridiculous about 2/20 off 9? Good figures, yes, but...?Kamande's figures are ridiculous.
He had 1/9 from 7.What's ridiculous about 2/20 off 9? Good figures, yes, but...?
Especially when bowling late in the innings following a batting collapse, you don't expect to be hoicked every second ball.
His figures were far more ridiculous earlier - as was mentioned, he had 1/9 off 7 overs. It's not like he's a particularly good bowler either - more in the batting allrounder variety. What's ridiculous about 2/20 off 9? Good figures, yes, but...?

These days more of bowler who can bat, his bowling has improved a lot lately. As i said earlier in this thread Kenya have been doing enough to win matches and really turned it on here when required. His figures were far more ridiculous earlier - as was mentioned, he had 1/9 off 7 overs.
