Gilchrist's wicket definitely key. A good score for him makes this chase infinitely easier.

Runs will be tricky to get from Vettori and company in the middle overs, so a quick start is crucial.

Are you not talking to the media about your win tonight Faaip?

Why the Kiwis open the bowling with Franklin, I do not know. He gets carted all the time. His record v Australia is very poor especially bowling to Gilly & Haydos.

Why New Zealand even select Franklin for ODIs is a mystery
I could actually understand it a bit with Mills out, because Adams and Mason are, to be perfectly honest, rubbish. At least Franklin can bowl genuine wicket-taking balls - Adams and Mason just get hammered. With Mills available though - and Patel not in the XI either - I don't have a clue why Franklin is playing. And this is coming from one of his biggest fans.

I dont know why Franklin is playing ahead of Mills. Yes, he got a quickfire 13 of 5 but Mills is by far a better and tighter bowler

Does anyone else get annoyed when watching a straight drive and you can't see until the last minute whether there is a fielder there to cut it off? Surely the camera can pan back quicker so you can see where the fielders are placed. Maybe it's just me

His lack of variation, his predictable nature and, quite evidently, his record thus far in his ODI career.
That just about sums it up, he's a poor man's McGrath (of 2/3 years ago) but without any sort of imposing presence whatsoever. Very pedestrian ODI bowler.

Had a few things go my way, but it was good to put in a useful performance. It'll just be good if we can get a win tonight. Taking it one game at a time, mate.
I thought you paced the innings well, breaking it down into 10 over periods and getting very close to those goals you set for yourself. Well played tonight. Enjoy your celebration :detective
