Certainly one of the best single-Test careers to date... not quite up there with the Gantaumes of this World, but not far off.

Beats me how Joyce got into the Ashes squad ahead of him.

I guess is that they had Joyce > Shah but Joyce wasn't qualified last winter.

Having said that, I did see them both last summer and thought Joyce far and away the better player.

Yeah, Shah wasn't in anywhere near as good nick last summer as the 2 previous ones.

I wouldn't neccessarily disagree with Joyce being the superior player, TBH, but I can't see the justice in superseding someone who's done so superbly on Test debut.
