Whoa where did this match come from... Joyce century, Plunkett taking incredible figures, even Mahmood doing well and England thrashing Australia.
Is my calendar 2 months and one day out?
Hilfenhaus is easily ahead of Tait afaic... however, in the case of Clark, he has a bit of Credit up his sleeve thanks to the test series and probably deserves the chance above both Hilfenhaus & Tait because of that, & the fact that he's had more experience.Didn't see the second innings tonight, however my observations are that:
- Hilfenhaus looked as least the equal of Clark or Tait in the ODI arena this Summer;
- White is just about finished for the Finals and possibly the WC squad;
- The non-selection of Hogg is becoming more unjustifiable by the day.
Definition of complacency anyone?
Sorry if i offended anyone, or was a bit too harsh. Just trying to say that arrogance is something that nobody should strive for. Maybe its just misunderstanding of the actually word itself.
Yes, gonna be a great finale, unless the Black Caps beat Aussie at the MCG, which im picking. Then the last game wont really matter too much, even while England would still have a mathematical chance.
I understand what the strict definition of arrogance is, however it's a word thrown about and used to describe people who are very very confident also. For example KP has been called arrogant but not because he has an offensive attitude to others. The dictionary definition is all well and good but people who are ****y and very self confident are called arrogant. They may be slightly overbearing but not necessarily offensive. It's also not necessarily a bad thing as far as sport is concerned, it is a 'quality' many of the greats have. I think it takes a certain pride (I don't mean hubris or the bible definition of pride) to become a great (I am the greatest anyone?) that was arrogance but who would deny him. When you dominate like Australia have been you are justified when you express it.Slow Love™;1065083 said:Yeah, many people seem to have an understanding that arrogance is simply acting with confidence, rather than acting like an ass. And the idea that somebody would earn the right to act like an ass is pretty stupid, if people take the time to think about it.
yea i agree, there fielding was not good compared to the usual high standards they set! OMG that first ball by plunkett was an absolute beauty!!Its about time, and in all honesty, it was flawless... almost anyway. The first time we can set a decent total, we win a game. Joyce rode his luck a bit, but nevertheless he had a fantastic game. One other thing I noticed today was the Aussie fielding, I havent seen such a slack display from them in the field for a fair while.
He was spraying it around like Ron Jeremy on rollerskates.Tait's bowled rubbish at the death, 2 wickets or not. That's unforgiveable bowling IMO.
Didn't see it. I'm glad you are always interested in my opinions though.What are your thoughts, Voltman?
or even the world cup?How funny would it be if we won this tournament?
