Australia blowing out to 2.75 with Hodge's dismissal.

This is probably un-Victorian, but bloody hell Hodge pisses me off. About as dumb as a plank of wood and can't bloody buy a run when the team needs him to at ODI level.

But on a more serious note i think if aussies bat sensibily they can still win. Need a good knock from hayden or clarke and symo and huss to support them.

Great chance for Hayden today, incidentally. A good innings here would remove any doubt about his place in the WC team, if there was any remaining.

You'd think that they just have to see off the new ball and they'd be in a good position to take it out.

I got on Aus at 2.75, I reckon they can do it. Go Clarkey.

Oh FFS Channel 9 I don't want to see those sagging things.

I sometimes wonder why I don't just get up and change the channel when ACA is on in between the cricket.

Yeah Aus more than capable of reaching the total with the players remaining.

Positive for England though.

Bopara wasn't showing any cricketing awareness in that run-out. Dalrymple was smooshing them, give him the strike for the next over to continue in similar fashion.
Feel for the chap really. He's a specialist top order batsman who has probably never batted below five, and gets snuck in the order behind Dalrymple, Nixon and Loye.

(I suppose the plan was to have him at six as backup for the near-inevitable collapse...)

Oz still favourites tho (and will be until they're 170/9 in the 45th over)

Even if England do win, which is still possible, but......

I dont see them beating the Kiwi's!! And ofcourse that only come into consideration if the Kiwi's dont beat Australia on Sunday.

Wouldnt be surprising to see Pup and Haydos to put on 150+ here

P.S Samuel_Vimes??? not the same Samuel_Vimes that stole my number one spot on TMN?

It may be a case of too little too late, but it's good to see us batting well. my fear is that at no point on this tour have we combined good batting with good bowling, against Aus anyway. We've batted well at times, or bowled well at others, but seemingly never both in the same match. In both the Tests and ODIs. I'm not greatly confident yet, but we've definitely got our best chance of beating the crims yet.

As for Ed Joyce, being dropped aside, seemed like a great knock. As Both said, "I hope he likes the Carribean."
