well his test record isn't poor. While his ODI career is poor yea but to me that is due to the fact that he hasn't got an extended enough run in in shorter version. I've seen him bat enough for Lancashire to know he can be a destructive run in the side, England would do well to get a player like him in the ODI side.Hodge is one of those players who has always been great at the domestic level, but he has never been able to turn it on at international level.
Outside chance of him making the WC squad as a backup batsman I think. Assuming the first team is the same as the current one with Watson in for White, you'd expect the backup four would include Hogg, Clark and White, with one other spot available which will probably go to Haddin, Hodge, Jaques or possibly another seamer.Hodgy's whole international future (both in the short and long forms) could ride on today's innings. At 32, it's hard to see him being drafted next Summer, unless he produces a compelling performance today. Furthermore, if they take Hayden and Watson (which seems likely) it's difficult to see how the selectors could shoe-horn him into the World Cup squad, almost regardless of his current form or what he produces today.
If anyone should make the Squad ahead of Clark it's Hilfenhaus IMO.Tait will play and I expect him to ruffle up the English batsmen.I predict Tait to make the WC squad ahead of Clark. You heard it hear first.
