The only reason I've had my tongue anywhere near his ringpiece is the unjustified slagging he's been getting by the likes of Prince EWC. Thanks for the support Voltman  ****
You are truly unbelievable. Prince EWS hardly gave him an "unjustified slagging" as you put it. He disagreed with you in that he's a proven "genuine allrounder" at ODI level, and provided sufficient evidence to prove his point. You on the otherhand have unjustly slagged everyone who has made a differing opinion than that of yourself, and then gone on to take the victim mentality as if you were the one being slagged. 8-)

Meahwhile... back at the cricket.. Lee is bowling brilliantly here, usually if they opposition are taking it to the attack, it's more often than not been Brett Lee they've gone after. The fact that he's been able to keep his economy rate at around 3.5 when others are going at 5.5+ is quite remarkable.

:D Don't write me off Prince. I still know a bit about the game despite my parochialism
Yeah, you clearly do. The post you made could come back to bite you later on though. Any time you say something about a New Zealander - even if you're right - people will be reluctant to take it seriously because you'd say it regardless of whether you truly believed it or not.

Taylor has got a hit on his hand from mitch and looks in some pain. Vincents love affair with WACA continues , pup warming up to have a bowl?

Do you disregard all the great innings he's played in both forms of the game?
Why so emotive about this? Firstly, I'm not suggesting dropping him from the tests, so we can forget about your "both forms of the game" comment.

Secondly, I will disregard great innings in ODIs if they're a couple of years ago, because they bear no relevance to what he's doing in the here and now. Otherwise we might as well recall Rodney Redmond.

He's been out of form (until today) and I think his presence has been to the detriment of the Australian side. But they still keep on winning.

Not sure how getting injured and recovering is a criteria for greatness, but Watson's had several stress fractures of the back, remodelled his action several times and played a whole season as a specialist batsman because he couldn't bowl. Then there's the fact that he missed the entire Ashes series this year with a recurring hamstring injury, and he dislocated his shoulder during a test last summer. I'd say he's been through as many "injury challenges" as anyone, Oram included.
Wow, thanks for that. Since I haven't followed Watson't career as closely as Oram's it was interesting to read that Watson has been through similar injury problems with Stress Fractures and the like.
They are both pretty remarkable then to have come back and performed after such career debilitating injuries.

I'd like to see White get an over or two on this pitch. More likely to get people out than Clarke, at least.
More likely to get hammered though. I'd like to see both White and Clarke into the attack to be honest. I think they're better spinners than Symonds, marginally.

Pup might not be a big spinner of the ball but he doesn't provide the batsman with a whole lot of hit-me either.

Symonds is definitely the most reliable of the three IMO. Uses his experience pretty well bowling his offies. Nevertheless, I'd like to see if White gets anything. The other two are definitely turning the ball, and he can always be replaced if he gets belted.

Oh well. I love my country and stand by the players. I was very tongue and cheek when mentioning players like Heath Davis but one of the main reason I even frequent this website is as a cheerleader for the Black Caps. They need it.
