If the selectors think Craig Cumming is too old to replace Nathan Astle then I can't see them bringing in Harry.
I think Harry's a very good chance to get back in the side. If McMillan doesn't score any runs in the up-coming games or his part-time bowling proves too expensive then Harry might be the man for the WC. I would love to see him make it there.

I would also love to see him make it back, but let's be honest. It would be a huge step back for the Black Caps, he is 36 or 37 and if he was picked for the World Cup would more than likely retire after that.

I wouldn't care if he did retire after the WC. I just want the best side possible to be there regardless of age and we could do a lot worse than Harry. That 50 ball ton in the 20/20 game shows he can obviously still bat and we know how miserly his bowling is and what an asset he is in the field. Bring Back Harry!

Harry's not nearly a good enough bowling option; he'd have to be considered on batting alone, and our middle order is not the main problem - especially if Styris comes back. Our bowling is strong enough to not use part-timers, which makes me wonder why Fleming continues using McMillan.

I'd like to see Cumming and Vincent open together: their styles somewhat complement each others'. I'm sure it won't happen before the WC unless continued failues force Bracewell into it. Sure, it's a risk to play two newbies (well kind of) at the top but we have only been getting 20 runs out of the openers previously. And I don't like Fleming opening against quality bowling.

He wasn't a capable bowler in many, if any, of the ODIs he played in since 2001. Quality batting will take eight an over off him.
Well actually you're very wrong there William. He has never gone for more than 8 an over in an ODI since this game Zim 2001 (Taupo) and he's played 85 overs since then in which time he's bowled 532.3 overs, conceding 2229 for an economy rate of 4.19 which is in fact better than his overall economy rate of 4.28.

Is Neil Broom as good as the runs scvored and his average in FC cricket this year suggests? Slightly off topic I know, but for some reason I kept thinking he was older then his age of 23.

Yeah, I always thought he was older (about 27 or 28).

He's a very mature player for Otago and forms a good combination with Aaron Redmond in both FC and OD cricket, if he keeps scoring runs there is no reason why he couldn't come into the selector's line of thinking.

Nice stats there Fiery. However, I was only stating that he would now, not that he had in recent ODI matches. As much as I think Cameron White is a one shot batsman I think he would take more than 20 an over off Harris.

Nah, Harry's too smart to let a punk like White do that to him

White would smack him for a couple of sixes then Harry would change pace slightly causing White to get a leading edge back to Harry or someone at long off.

Andre Adams you star for the Auckland Aces, well played.
Yeah, why can't he do that sort of thing in the black uniform? There go Graeme Aldridge's chances of ever wearing a Black Cap. What a plonker!
