This is why tennis is **** to watch. For all the beautiful shots he plays, pretty much everything is a forgone conclusion before it starts. What's the point of watching if you already know the ending.
How is that different to the Australian cricket team though?

you can still enjoy the tennis...i would rather enjoy one guy dominating the other with brilliant tennis than a tense five-setter with both playing scratchy tennis...sampras used to walk on air like this sometimes....the tennis was still awesome.....

Roddick simply isn't good enough. Actually if one leaves Roger out,Men's Tennis is at it worst in last 40 years.

anyone else see Roddick's press conference after the match last night? Outstanding! Even if he played rubbish he was still good for a laugh...

Notch up another Aussie Open for Fedex....

It would take a miracle for someone to beat him in the Final.

he doesn't have a prayer against federer at his best, true...but as far as that goes, in the past 15 years or so, other than a sampras at his best, who would have a chance? other than on clay(and even on clay, he would beat most comers except maybe the truly exceptional clay courters), he would beat everyone else including agassi comprehensively....i am not so sure about comparing the greats a couple of generations before that(edberg, becker, mcenroe, lendl, borg, connors etc)....but he would probably match up really well against them too....

An old and well past his peak Agassi has challenged Federer before, such as in the 2004 and 2005 US Open. I do agree that Federer is currently better than Agassi has ever been at his peak, and will go down as the greater player, but an Agassi from 99-2003 was an all-time great player, and I think you're doing him a disservice by saying he'd wallop Agassi comprehensively.

Not long to go now, ive felt all day that Haas has a massive chance to go through, if he can keep up his tournament percentage of first serves in of around 70 its enough of a weapon to annoy Gonzalez. Neither player is well known for their patience and if Tommy can get his serve going he'll be fine...

Gonzalez playing some great Tennis atm. In his current form he will challenge Federer in the final if he gets there.

after watching gonzo vs haas and do u still think tennis is the worst it has been in 40 years?
Gonzalez is the 10th seeded in the comp and he played absolutely brilliant tonight and there are 10 more statistically better people in this comp than him so no tennis isn't the worst it has been in 40 years
