Haha, I couldn't believe he went for £7.1m, I expected over £10m. Still... I think £7m was a good price for Ralph, considering Black went for £8m only a few days earlier.

If you're actually trying to boost fielding, fair enough.

However, if your main aim is to improve secondaries, I'd say hold off the fielding net. Your team is going to benefit more from your nets if you concentrate on primaries until your players are a little older.

That's assuming that you're training-to-keep rather than training-to-sell. If the player isn't going to be long term, and you're just after a fast buck, a couple of levels of secondaries might get you a better price.
I need to boost the secondaries of both Benjamin and Weerappuli. Gleeson is fairly even on his bowling secondaries (resp & comp) so that's why I replaced his fielding net.

Looks like batting and bowling should pop within a month, probably both within a couple of weeks (assuming he's had a bat and bowl since the wages update).
Cheers mate.
Benjamin's just on the bowling net at the moment as thats what I need him for the most (opening the bowling).

I'm thinknig of putting him onto Siyabonga's batting net once Siya pops.

Black was overpriced, but virtually everyone else going for over 6m is a complete bargain when compared to me being able to sell 26yo superb-mediocre for £1.6m and Horne will be over 3m. If you split those three all-rounders from Womble into bowlers and batsmen even the quality-strong (whatever it was) would go for nearly 4m. You could sell a remarkable-sensational bat for well over 5m, same with the remarkable-wonderful bat, quality-exceptional would go for 5m or thereabouts, superb-sensational would be over 4m.

They're (Womble all-rounders) still a bargain but they would have been an even bigger bargain normally going by the standards of the transfer market. But of course they're going over market value just to be irritating.

How many financial advisors do you guys have? I added an extra one to my staff today, to give me three.

Depends entirely on how much money I have. I have 8 at the moment but I'll probably be sacking most of them before too long.

Any idea why Womble's having a clear-out? SURELY that lot can't be fringe players?!

Probably reads the Daily Mail and has spent the last 17 years trying to find "the new Botham".

Qual/Qual's were going for £3M last time I looked - unless you've already filled your team with players at that level, why spend £7M on a Qual/Qual/Qual/Strong all-rounder? Oh well, I suppose it does accomplish one thing -- it removes cash from teams that would otherwise have much higher potentials.

Anyway, I know what sort of players I'll be producing when I finally start training for profit rather than my 1st XI :p

I'm guessing that the team who bought him first time cheated to get the money somehow. Will probably go for even more this time anyway... grrrr.

just dipped around 1.15mil into the transfer kitty and signed this youngster...

Steven Rich (1080592)
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, competent batting form, competent bowling form, lively
A cautious player with abysmal leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Whenuapai CC
Nationality: New Zealand
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 7,096 (-143)
Wages: £1,069 p/w

Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: respectable Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

I'm not sure if it was that wiser mover. However, as far as long term aspirations go, it should do the club no harm to our hopes to play in New Zealand's top division. Tony Wheat will maintain his place in the side for a while yet because of his superior keeping. Probably towards the end of the season, when Rich should have proficient keeping, I'll look at selling Wheat. I still have 1.2mil in the bank at the moment, so I haven't got anything to worry about for the time being. At the moment i'm looking at giving Rich 1 keeping net and 2 batting nets. Bocaj was insisting I'd put up to 6 nets into him, but tbh, i'm not going to be able to do that, lol.

The main thing that this signing will change is the training of Jason Duggan, the batting superstar, and allround good guy, who has claims to being Cricketweb's best batsmen. I'll keep duggan on 2 batting nets till he reaches sensational. From there I'll probably use one as a stamina net for the new players, but he'll keep the other net until he reaches masterful batting, which will happen about halfway into season 8 when duggan is 23. from there i hope that he is able to dominate most bowling attacks for the remainder of his career.

Haha, nutcase is right. Ridiculous price really, but I'll take it. Makes it a bit difficult for me in my match today, but as long as I can get through that I've got an easy match next week so I'll have some time to search for a decent replacement. Would like an opening bowler ideally.

As for Stock, apparently one of the GMs accidentally reversed the transfer.

I'm surprised it hasn't been re-reversed, that'd be pretty rough on the team that got him originally if someone else gets them next time.

Hmmm, GM-Sonnlich is being botted.

16. Greg Summers (66970)
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, strong batting form, superb bowling form, changeable
A cautious player with mediocre leadership skills and respectable experience.

Battrick Rating: 141,772
Wages: £66,051 p/w
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: worthless Concentration: superb

Somewhat tempted to raise some cash, unless someone's going to outbid me...how much have you got, Scaly?

What the hell happened to her?

I remember being pretty impressed with her during the beta period...was it Sonnlich who had an amazingly strong dislike of Ricky Ponting?
Yeah I don't think she was a fan. She seems to be involved in a lot of accidents though, last I heard she was hit by a car (she's alright I assume, given that she was able to post that).

Listed Harewood for 2.9m, which is pretty cheap IMO. Ideal time to sell him now as he's just popped in bowling and fielding. Worst case scenario would be that I don't get Summers and have to buy back Harewood, which will cost 200k+. Pretty sure Harewood will go for 3.5m+, so I'll have 10m+ to spend, but I don't really want to spend more than 8m.
