New Zealand Domestic Season 2006/07

Natman20

International Debutant
Australia are the masters at rotating the strike keeping the score ticking over all the time and just waiting to pounce when there is a loose delivery. If New Zealand were to look for gaps instead of trying to hit boundaries it would result in good bases for good totals and less risk in getting out. Just look to the recent innings of Fleming (i didnt get to watch it but his stats say some things) all he needed to do was find a gap anywhere and run with his shot. There is no point just whacking it and hoping that it would get past the fielders because lets face it the fielding level in international cricket is extremely high.

Maybe it's time to give Vincent another chance at the top. At least we know he plays with urgency and is lightening between the wickets

If it wasn't so close to the WC people might be asking for McCullum to step aside for McGlashan. The ND keeper has been on fire with the bat, averaging 63, scoring at a run-a-ball, and coming in first drop.
I tend to agree with you, if the selectors are going to value runs at State Shield level then surely Peter McGlashan must feel hard done by, although he is probably behind Gareth Hopkins in the pecking order but is several years younger which boost's his chances. He is a creative batsman, as Voltman has said and I would like to see him get more exposure. Which he would put away that baseball mask, he looks like a downright idiot.

Then why have you got an avatar of Adam Gilchrist? That's downright traitorous and pretty much constitutes treason. I mean c'mon, did you lose a bet?
No I didn't lose a bet, but he is far and away my favourite cricketer. Thus the avatar.

Pretty good fielder as well. Has been rolling his arm over for Auckland (and in English county cricket) but I wouldn't rely on him to bowl ten. Or 3 overs.

How can you be a kiwi and have an Australian as your favourite cricketer? I find that hard to come to terms with. It's like having Johnny Wilkinson as your favourite rugby player.

If I still believed in having "favourite players", mine would be Shane Warne...

And Jonny Wilkinson isn't a rugby player - he's been planted as a test case by the RFU to see how much money they can get out of their insurance companies.

Look at the sad bunch of idiots that the Black Caps have playing for them, Gillespie and Styris are the only ones I like. The rest are just average in my eyes. Anyway to be honest, I always support Australia except when they are playing New Zealand in the cricket. Of course I still want Gilly to dominate.

At least Uncle Bully is a kiwi. Maybe not the greatest role model and too fond of eggs but a kiwi

That "sad bunch of idiots" are representing our country. They are, (in most cases), the best players in the country and deserve more respect than that. C'mon man, get behind your team and stop supporting bloody Ockers. Maybe that's half the problem. We have young supporters hoping that Australians do well ffs. What's the country coming to?!

Fiery=fool. Growing up my favourite players were Chris Cairns and Michael Slater. You can support a player regardless of where they come from.

I only support Australia because Gilly plays for them, I support New Zealand too. When Gilly retires then I will probably pay less attention to Australian cricket, but I do admire them for not only their ability, but also their mental toughness. Something our boys are badly lacking.

Come here, Fiery, and give your Uncle Bully a kiss.
Best part of the movie is when Jake opens a can of whoop-ass on Bully.

And your just as bad. Paul Collingwood?! That's probably worse!
You can see plainly in my sig who I support. I like them for particular reasons and will continue supporting them until they either A) retire or B) have a major attitude or style change in the way they go about cricket. I used to support Hamish Marshall because I genuinely through he was a good prospect, but now he seems like another Mathew Sinclair or Matt Horne.

His honesty, batting style, thoughts on the game. He just seems such a great bloke and I've only heard him being interviewed a couple of times and listened to him during the Twenty20 against England. He has just always been my favourite and probably always will be.

Get over it man, if you are accusing me of being unpatriotic then you've got it all wrong. I watch State Shield and State Twenty20 on TV, I'm always interesting in how our domestic players are going, that includes men and women. I support the Black Caps and watch their matches, I want them to do well.

Then again I do sing the Australian national anthem from time to time.
