Dunno if I'd say that. 75 or better with 0-2 wickets down is still in general a pretty good launching pad for a good total, even a very good one. Always gonna depend on the conditions, of course.These days, I believe, it is generally accepted that usually you need a 100 from the first 15 to have any reasonable show of a good total. NZ has been nowhere near this in their last few games and show no signs of getting any better.
I really don't think so, to be honest. England's batting problems in ODIs have either been the inability to score at a decent rate, or the loss of wickets in persuit of fixing the first problem. A total of 180 odd would be chased down with ease IMO - the likes of Collingwood and Bell suddenly become a million times more useful in such a chase.Game's not quite over yet. If Oram, McCullum and Vettori could get to 180+, that might still be competitive against this England lineup.
