I really don't think so, to be honest. England's batting problems in ODIs have either been the inability to score at a decent rate, or the loss of wickets in persuit of fixing the first problem. A total of 180 odd would be chased down with ease IMO - the likes of Collingwood and Bell suddenly become a million times more useful in such a chase.
I actually expected England to win the game from the outset, and if anything they've started better off than I thought they would - but I wouldn't put it past them at all to stumble chasing a total of 180-200. I suppose it might also come down to Bond and Oram's fitness, to an extent. I guess we'll see, it may well be that NZ don't put up such a total anyway. But if they do, I'd say they're still very much in it.

CB series what a let down so far!

i think every team in the series wants to play worse cricket than there opponents ozi's have also been guilty of that if would not have been for mr.cricket , its hard to believe it since every game is a step closer to the world cup.Meanwhile in india targets of 339 are looking small, i think india will get into bad habits by playing on such flat tracks and will struggle in west indies during the world cup

Pity for England that Anderson couldn't show such form with the red ball. Has bowled brilliantly in his last 3 matches (this 1 included)

This hurts. It really does.

One might argue that getting rid of Bracewell is a sure fire way of upsetting the team so we won't win the World Cup. IMO, we're definitely gonig to lose with him, so lets just get rid of him now and give it our all.

Actually I'll agree with that, this series has been crud, even with some relatively close finishes with Aus vs. Eng and Aus vs. NZ.

Even India and Zim down here in 2003/04 was better tbh, because India had close matches until the finals with Aus, and Zim kept challenging India.

I am actually struggling to think how it can get much worse.

This is just bull**** and depressing. No real point in trying to analyse any of this because it has been all ****.

This is the worst I have ever felt as a sports fan... and that includes NZ losing 4 Rugby World Cups in my lifetime.

10 overs left, if NZ bat well they can get 70-80 from them with Oram and McCullum at the crease.
