Why are we batting so s-l-o-w-l-y-?
I know it may be hard to believe, but a lot of it has actually been a result of good, disciplined one day bowling from England. The scoring rate is attrocious and realistically should be higher, but a lot of credit must go to the England bowlers who have given NZ nothing.

England could do very well in the WC if they bowl like this tbh.
Yes I agree. They seem to have the balance right, and some good bowlers - they just lack consistency and depth. An injury or two to one of the bowlers would be disasterous - you'd see the likes of Tremlett and Mahmood...

Yes, it is hard to believe. :p

But seriously though, you expect disciplined bowling - I mean, did they expect gimmes?

They need to lift their game, if challenging the bowlers by unorthodox batting is not an option, surely quick singles/twos and rotation of strike is the way to go.

These days, I believe, it is generally accepted that usually you need a 100 from the first 15 to have any reasonable show of a good total. NZ has been nowhere near this in their last few games and show no signs of getting any better.

Stuff this, let's put Australia A in the series again so we can at least make it competitive.

Nice survey on the nzherald website:
'Is John Bracewell to blame for New Zealand's poor cricket showing?'

40% so far say 'Yes - sack him now'
