Good to seee Kyle Hogg scoring some runs yesterday. Looks another good track though bu the funs have been score pretty quickly so if Otago can get a decent lead they've a chance of an outright.

Otago have made some good signings over the past 2 years. And they're also doing well because they are one of the few sides here to pick specialist batsmen and bowlers.

hmmm Jamie How 78*. I know Marshall got a 50 yesterday but I think Jamie How is a much better option.

I'd keep James Marshall in the ODI side, because if he does score runs then it's good, but when he doesn't we can drop him and actually have a reason for it. How has always been a big scorer at domestic level, just like Fulton but hasn't really turned that into runs against test quality opposition. Good to see him still pushing his claim though.

Good to see Northern Districts finally get a win in the State Shield, beating Wellington by 133 runs in Taupo.

222 runs @ 37.00 is all he has, take out his century and in his other five innings he has scored 93 runs @ 18.60. Nothing worth mentioning.

Brendon Diamanti is leading the wicket tally with 12 from 6 games while Matt Harvie of Otago has 12 from 7, Grant Elliot has 11 from 6 and Graeme ALdridge has 12 from 7. Paul Hithcock, Brandon Hiini and Roneel Hiira all have 9.

Take out Cummings centuries and what do you have? Didn't think you'd subscribe to the "take out the best" philosophy. If he scored only one century then I may agree but two suggests he's in better touch than we may have previously thought.

But Lou Vincent has only scored one century, and it was on a flat track against the most inexperienced bowling line-up in the country.

Anyway besides Cummings two hundreds, which he scored on decent wickets against pretty good bowling attacks, he's still averaged over 24 from his over 6 starts. I'd definately go for Cumming ahead of Vincent. Also it was good to see Ryder score a quickfire 50 for Wellington in the 20/20, though I think at this stage it's too little, too late.

Exactly what Bahnz said, Vincent only has one century and he has failed in his other 5 innings. Cumming has two centuries and a fifty which shows he is being consistent. I don't usually subscribe to that theory, but 1 century by Vincent amongst a run of failures doesn't exactly show up in his average.

Whoops, thought he had two centuries. okay, maybe he isn't exactly killing it at the moment...but I bet he'll end up averaging 30+ with at least another 50.

Nothing that demands selection as far as I'm concerned, not with Astle and Fleming fighting for the opening spot/s.

checkin cricketarchive and seeing that Grant Elliot is enjoying himself overthere, 2 centuries so far, and bowling nicely :)

Fantastic 100 by Harry today. I know he's prehistoric, but I really reckon he should be given one last chance to make the world cup, if only as payment for all his wonderful service to New Zealand Cricket.
