Whatever they do, move McCullum back down the order.
I'd like to see them persevere with him there, this is the first time he's failed to get a start since his promotion up the order and I think he could be really effective there in the World Cup...just not if he bats like he did today.

I would keep him there and let him learn how to pick the right balls to hit. He doesn't have to go completely nuts like he sometimes tends to.

Nice square drive Taylor

Nice steadying job by Taylor and Fleming, but I don't know whether NZ have the hitters lower down the order to let the run rate blow out much further....

I hope Franklin will have recovered enough to be able to bat, he's one guy who can hit in the lower order. Vettori and McMillan will both have to contribute too.

Fleming's playing alright today, looks much better after some match practice than he did coming back from his rest - funny that.

I'd be more confident if saw Mills at 10.

Shot Taylor. Certainly no lack of confidence

TAYLOR!

Loving the look of him. And I like Fulton too, which makes me think that if NZ can just replace McMillan in the long-term, and fix up their opening woes, they can get their batting on the rise in ODI cricket.

I'd have Vincent in the team at the top.

What an amazing opening spell from Hilfenhaus. One of the best starts for a bowler at international level in recent memory. Expected him to do well in the long term, but to bowl with such consistency on debut is really impressive.

Fairly hard to see New Zealand winning this, but if this partnership gets through the powerplays and can attack the 5th bowler options anything is possible, especially without Lee to take late wickets. Taylor batting well.

Taylor makes up for almost running out his captain (that wouldn't have been so good at this point) with an awesome shot.

This approach from McCullum clearly isn't working. If he's going to continue to open, someone needs to tell him just to play normally, instead of playing across the line and getting out lbw constantly. He doesn't need to force the issue.
