***Official*** Pakistan in South Africa

Exactly. I haven't really been impressed by South Africa - they were gifted a series victory by the Indian batsmen.

Haha, Asif ripping it apart and unlikely to lose the drug thing for quite a while. Might've been better for him to have serve out the ban. :p

Will people ever forget?
Why should people forget?

He's got away with a huge violation.

people forget easily
remember rio ferdinand?
it was obvious he would rather miss the test and get banned for 8 months rather than give positive test and get banned for who knows how long

Sick of the Asif bashing. He still might suffer further punishment, and I`m sure the humiliation he is facing - although deservedly - is proving incredibly harsh already.

Yes, people remember Rio.

He was banned for it, and IIRc people at the time said it was too short a ban.

Asif however has not served a ban and he was proven to be on drugs.

But at least he's allowed to play and given the smiles on his and Shoaib's faces yesterday, they dont seem to be suffering one bit

Compare that to the world-wide condemnation, banning and income loss suffered by Ben Johnso.

Hell, nothing's ever been proven against the champion cyclist Jan Ullrich and he was sacked and basically banned for life

No matter how much bashing Asif and Shoaib get on this forum, they've gotten off scot-free

rabish bowling from rana
i have always said rana is only one day cricket bowler. sami would have been a good choice or if shabbir would have been selected in place of sami. the match would have been in different condition now

I'm amazed that people defend Asif.. I was expecting a few Pakistani fans to (on the whole they've been very good so far), but surely his position is indefensible?

Anyway, bloody well done SA.. Ashwell, you done good (again)

Fans want justice and when it is not given in their eyes, they will obviously be agitated. The Asif bashings aren't unjustified.

Is it harsh on the player? Not really because he has committed an offense and he has to crop the disgruntlement of the fans. Do I feel sorry for Asif? Not really. There is way more reason to feel sorry for the way justice has not been meted out.

Before it happened I quite liked him, from what I'd seen on Youtube he seemed a very good prospect, and his performances backed it up. It'll take a long time for me to be able to think the same way about him now though. If he'd been banned, did his time and came back, I'd probably be fine, but as it is I'm not comfortable with him playing
