You know, you can never predict the future. Jay Williams had great potential, but his career was ruined by injury, and today no team wants him. The second overall pick of the 2002 draft is playing in the D League. I'm not saying Bosh doesn't have potential. He sure does, and if he can remain free of a huge injury, he might be able to come near Ewing. But I don't see that happening. He shows no potential as being a good shot blocker as Ewing. He might match Ewing with points and rebounds, but Ewing will always be the better shot blocker, and it would edge in Ewings favor on who would end up being better.
Agreed :) ... But don't forget Carter and T-Mac also played for us :p . Also, he might even edge Ewing in terms of points and rebounds, but just as you said, you can never predict the future.

Carter when he was playing in Toronto was headed to be a hall of famer, one of the best guards of all time. He couldn't be stopped. Look at him now, he is barely ever consistent this season. Before he got traded, I could have said he might head for the hall of fame, today I'm saying there is no way he's going to the hall of fame. Who knows maybe the same can happen to Bosh.

That's the main reason I don't compare current players to retired ones because the current players can go down hill starting today, but we know for sure the retired ones did good through out their career

Did anyone see Gilberts game winner last night? The guy shot it up, just turned around, and was walking down the court like he knew he was going to hit it for sure.

I've been a fan of Gilbert since the start of the last season, and I love his game more day by day. Second round pick haha bull crap

Also there was a 80 foot shot from LeBron but Gilberts shot was better even though LeBron threw it up from full court length.

yeah the guy has been red-hot....shooting 30-35 footers regularly nowadays, incredible accuracy under pressure...also a.i is feeling the heat now, the nuggets are on a losing streak, losing even to philly and to top it all, he gets ejected as well!

To a call that was clearly a foul! I'm not sure about counting AI out yet. Sixers team is actually better than their record says now. And with guys like Dermarr Johnson and Diawara starting for us, it's pretty much Iverson carrying the offense. I'm sure things will change once Melo and JR make their come back

Mavs win another nail-biter against the Spurs!! Mavs were losing by 11 at half before making a comeback. Dirk was money tonight, with a season high 37 pts. Man, every time these two teams play it's a thriller. The best rivalry and mach-up in the game today.

yeah this was another tight one...although i get the feeling that the mavs are beginning to have the edge in this rivalry....when they caught up with the spurs and took the lead, there was a feeling of inevitability about it, at least for me....if they can keep this level up and i don't see any reason why they can't, i don't see any reason why they can't go one step further than last year....all said and done, the only serious challengers in a playoff series for them are the spurs and the suns....can't see the bulls, wizards, cavs or the pistons beating them in the seven-match series....

They showed this game in India and I was watching it. Dirk was on fire all night, but how Spurs were shooting all night, I really didn't expect anyone to make a 3 pointer. Good game it was though. Love watching these teams go at it.

Interesting how in the ESPN pre-game show (US coverage) the panel had either Nash or Dirk as their current league MVP.

Surely Nash cant win it 3 times in a row (though there is no reason why not if his numbers keep improving from year to year) and I would love to see Dirk do it. The hardest matchup in the league. There is noone else like him. All the other great players have at least a number of similar but lessar copies.

If he can do 20 and 10 for the 1st time in his career and take the Mavs to a good regular season record then I hope he gets it.

After winning 6 straight, the Bucks have now lost 2 on the trot. They really need to find some consistency. Just hanging on to 8th spot in their conference.

there are quite a few other players in the mix for mvp right now along with these two...lebron, wade(the way the heat are playing this season, he might not be in contention much longer), arenas, bryant...i don't see what "having similar but lesser copies" has anything to do with it though....:)

LeBron and Kobe aren't going to win it. They have a chance, but not even as close to Nash. If Arenas can keep going crazy every night and help his team to a 50 win he might have a chance. Boozer is up there this season, who is doing great for Utah.

Ben Gordon would have a chance if he started every game.

Melo might be within a chance of Denver go 50+ this season, which could be likely when Melo returns

nash is indeed the front runner but the fact that he is the two-time reigning mvp might count against him if there are other consistently exceptional performers who take their teams to 50+ win seasons...yeah i forgot about boozer, he is definitely there in the mix as utah's best player, i doubt if 'melo would be considered after the fracas at the garden though however good a season he might have from now on...

Pistons lose to bulls :dry; Two games I wanted them to win this season were when Detroit went to Chicago, which they already lost, and when Chicago went to Detroit

The Lakers ended the Mavs' winning streak last night. For a change, it wasn't entirely Kobe's heroics that did us in. Walton and Vujacic hit key 3-pointers. Mavs had a chance to tie it at the end. But Parker rejected Terry's drive to the basket and then Devean George couldn't connect for a 3 pointer to tie it.

Pretty depressing sports weekend for me, what with the Cowboys and Mavs both losing big games. :(

I'm going to be back in US on the 15th, and I'm going to hit up the Nets game, when Detroit is in town on 31st. It's been a while since I went to a Pistons game, and I'm looking forward to this one, especially because of the recent rise of the Pistons bench.

Should be fun for you. I'll be attending the Mavs/Nuggets game next month. That would be the first of hopefully about 10 games that I plan to attend.

Should be a good game, with the Nuggets full line up available. I'm probably going to end up at a Nuggets game my self when they visit Jersey later on in the year. I think it's March when they come to Jersey
