I had my doubts about him but these last two results have assured me. O'neill is a brilliant manager. Now to see what he'll do in the transfer market because I'm sure he'll have more transfer funds than he would at Celtic, no offense to them though.

Owen's getting up there in years. Would rather a young forward such as Torres or Huntelaar so that in around 2 years the forward line will be Rooney, Rossi, Saha and Torres/Huntelaar. Smith may be moved to midfield or sold by then and OGS will have become a coach either at United or somewhere else.
Hardly. Just turned 27.

Oh, & keeper! 8-)

True but I'd rather have a 21-23 yr old than a 27 yr old Liverpool man

Seconded. I'm rapidly losing all my passion for English football, since it became apparent that the players don't care half as much about what they do as the fans do.
Almost four years ago I was doing a TAFE course and there was an guy from England in there and his opinion was that they should get rid of the whole lot of them since none of them care and pick goes from the (then) Divison 1 and 2 because they would care more and probably put up a better performance

Mind you this was when SGE was in a habit of puinning a bunch of names to a team sheet and throwing some darts at them. Francis Jeffers?

I think your team is Buckley's (as in zero chance) of getting Fernando Torres anytime soon.

Anyway an interesting article on channel4 it reports that Javier Mascharano is likely to join Juventus on loan for 18 months and then buy him outright at the end of the 2007-08 season. Mohammed Sissoko is the holding midfield option they are looking at.

Gabriel Heinze is another name being looked at and as well as Jose Mourinho!

When the team decided to try and go on strike in 2003 after Rio Ferdinand was dropped for missing a drugs test, I was all in favour of dropping the whole lot of them and telling them unless they issued a full and frank apology to the nation for their actions then they'd never be allowed to play for their country again. I'd gladly throw some lower division players into the England team if necessary, you know what you're getting with them.

I'd have them play for my country

Interesting that 9/11 of our first choice side are English. Our usual left-back is an Aussie and our best defender is Jamaican.

I’m not, even though my complete apathetic opinion of the FA Cup meant that I didn’t even know who my boys were playing yet alone that we won until I saw the draw for the 4th round on TV today. Some fan hey?

Wow! Solskjaer!! Now you see why he can't be sold. Poor 'keeping though I might add.
Solskjaer's 'finished', friend of mine played against him in a reserve game last year and said that he was unbelievable poor and slow and my mate is one to talk, he makes Jamie Carragher look like Obafemi Martins. Decent player for Man Untied over the years but his had some terrible injuries and regardless of his goals this season his actual team play and contributions have been nothing of note. Was nice to see him comeback though, his probably only the 4th Man U player I like alongside Vidic, Ronaldo and Heinze.

So, what's the deal with you having an apathetic opinion of the FA Cup?

Yes! A trip to the bridge! Should be a nice day out, see a real premiership football team, and hopefully get under their skin a little bit

Vacany solved by Alex Baptiste. Best promising CB in the lower leagues.

Bring back Des Walker too just for the hell of it.

Think it’s a waste of time for clubs such as Blackburn, who don’t have the squad for a successful UEFA campaign let alone a domestic cup competition. Hughes had his priorities straight yesterday and fielded not a particularly good starting eleven, he knows the score and what’s the difference between 3rd or 5th round failure? Money, no not really, we not that desperate and are league safety is far more beneficial then a cup run, even a successful one. Also its rather disheartening to see lower league clubs follow a similar route for whatever reason they maybe and I understand the cup has more importance with lower league supporters but most people who support Premiership clubs very rarely see the excitement of the FA Cup anymore. You get the odd anomaly but Sheffield Untied’s defeat and squad that faced Swansea pretty much summed up what a distraction the cup has become. Also could be rather telling that Sheff Untied stay up come the end of the season and the Watford’s of this world, who did win, go down.

If they got rid of the even more pointless Carling Cup or whatever its called now, opinions may change. And on a entertainment level, the shocks are continually getting less and less 'shocking' and far more predictable, namely Charlton’s defeat to Forest which was about as signposted as it gets.
