*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

I did think it was a weak effort from Dudek, wasn't a very good finish from Henry but it went in anyway.

It's really more about the build up. He dispossesses an England international & turned the entire defence. He had no right to even get a shot in.

Seriously does dribbling about twenty yards without anyone near you and hit a weak shot deserve 10 minutes of hyperbole and idolisating from Motson and 'at the muurrrrrmernt'?

This is why moronic football fans think England had a good chance of winning with the vegetable - people are so susceptible to media it's ridiculous.

Only one moronic football fan here...

Yea because it's a big achievement being an England international after the vegetable's reign isn't it? If I hadn't stubbed my toe that fateful Tuesday night in 2004 I'd have gotten a call-up.

Carragher dispossessed himself because he's a donkey. One player made a passable attempt at being a Sunday League defender by standing a few yards off chief poseur, presumably so he could get a better angle on his better foot and then there's the keeper...

I think you're getting a little carried away mate, it was good but Carragher looked like a Div VIII Grimsby Sunday league standard when he didn't hoof that out, he tried to be clever and looked like an idiot.

Alright goal, big pace, bad defending and you have some hyperbole. It was good but nothing to write home about IMO.

Indeed, and I never thought England would win the World Cup, most over-rated players ever, as proven by recent results.
Similarly disproof is waiting there in the international game and against other quality opposition for those who assert that chief poseur is something beyond good club player/average player for France, but people on here prefer to absorb the drivel and hyperbole from football commentators (one of the dumbest breed around) and the media.

Still even the most foaming of CDMs fans will accept he's past it in a year or two so people can stop moaning about my reality checks on chief poseur and everyone will be happy.

Sorry wasn't aware an England player scored a winner against Brazil, or got to the World Cup final, yet I guess thats similar disproof, or whatever8-)

TTboy gave you a thorough analysis about Henry against top teams which proved his record was ok against decent teams, but you've consistently ignored it, are Liverpool not a top team, oh I forget that was goalkeeper error.8-)

Oh I'll be very happy if you stopped moaning about him, but thoe days are unlikely to come in my lifetime, I feel.

If you dug some of my great grandparents up they could have scored that goal against Brazil. He only scored that one goal in the four knockout games in the World Cup as well as missing the other good chances he got and being largely anonymous, hardly something to shout about. Anyway Michael Owen would have had a winning goal against Brazil if England could have defended properly in 2002 - he's nothing special either. I've replied to every 'thorough analysis' concerning chief poseur that I've seen. If it's the one I think it is all it showed was he nearly got to 1 goal every 2 games... that was over a small sample which picked the teams he played against (Premiership games only - think the teams were Chelsea, Manure, Liverpool and Spurs). I've picked much bigger samples including games where the CDMs have played good teams in Europe, good teams domestically and international games against good teams (most of them fall into that category) and he's around 0.3 goals a game in those games which is pretty poor (I can't be bothered digging it up, it was in an old *Official* football thread and as usual everyone else ignored my evidence because they couldn't refute it - surprise surprise).

As for his goal - I don't see why he should get praise for hitting a weak shot that the keeper ballsed up. He got a good chance against a decent team and as he does most of the time he fluffed it - that's the reality of it. You don't then praise chief poseur for the keeper's error. Are we going to castigate Gary Neville now for his own goal that bobbled over Robinson's foot?

Seen the odds on betfair and Liverpool are massive favourites going to the FA Cup against Arsenal, geez it would be very tempting to go with Arsenal as the outsider. I would check the odds on bet365 but their site is down.
Took the bet on Arsenal and I'm glad it payed off. Unlike my form with the New Zealand v Sri Lanka ODI :@

Shaun Wright-Phillips mentioned in other sources. Just looked on the BBC's transfer rumours page, which basically summarises what the tabloids have to say before putting it into proper English. Such as the proposed move of Joleon Lescott to Real Madrid for £7m. Who pays these hacks?
"In Breaking News there is the discovery that there is a player Real Madrid are not interested in."

Man that is funny

All very well SP, and of course I believe your fictional stats like any good idjit would.

Yet what we fail to understand is your rantingagainst Thiery before anyone prases him, it may well be reasonable to retort if I'd said, blimey "Henrys a genius and that goal was sublime, hes the greatest ever", yet you always seem to get your retaliation in first, which might make some think its more of a vendetta then anything else,TBH .

Ho-hum:wacko:

Liverpool's season has been just like United last season. Could end up to a real disappointing season for them, don't think they have a chance to win the premiership even if my boys, Chelsea or the gunners slip up, Barcelona most likely will send them out of the CL as well. Carling up about i guess..

Ironically tho, I actually do think ManUre are in far more need of a goalscorer (like Michael Owen) than a midfielder. It's a paradox I can't fathom that they're the Prem's leading goalscorers without an outstanding goalscorer. Larsson will bag a few, I'm sure, but he's only by necessity a short-term option.
All true, hopefully when Owen returns this year he can get back among the goals thus United can buy him, he be a super signing next summer IMO. Since other than Ronaldo & Ole (who isn't getting very young) not much back-up behing Saha/Rooney.

Next season United should definately be looking to buy another quality foward & another left-winger.
