Scaly, what sort of friendly would you like mate. I'll be playing as close to my Cup 1st round CI as possible. Staveley, Sup/Prof Bat will be playing, as will Cash, Resp/Strong - but other than that it'll probably be Comp and worse. Bowling-wise it'll most likely be mainly resps, save for Cash who's Strong/Resp.

Obviouszly play whatever side you like mate, but I just thought I'd let you know so you could make changes if you wanted a close match.

Tar, Trev

Haha, what a ****ed up WC. SA apparently qualify ahead of us despite being equal on points and having an inferior NRR. Rightio. Even assuming they finished 4th, the fixtures are still wrong.
No wonder there was no table to be seen. It's an absolute shambles seems like Battrick couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery at the moment.

Trust me - piss-ups in breweries are more difficult to organise that you might think...and I've organised several! At my first (Robinson's of Stockport), it all went a bit wrong and I literally had to beg for us to be let in

Another old uni mate of mine actually failed to organise a piss-up in the huge Manchester Scottish & Newcastle brewery - everyone got there, the tour went well...and then they were ushered into a room and served tea and coffee. Apparently a Japanese delegation were round, and they only had one room that was licensed to serve alcohol. Poor Ian was never allowed to forget that one.

Anyway, back on topic...

Despite my eternal optimism, and the fact that most of the BT-England GMs are mates of mine, I just have to agree with you. This off-season has not been good. One more like it, and a lot of the older players are going to leave. Lots of people who signed up last season would probably jump ship as well.

It's the total lack of communication, and failure to appreciate the consequences of their mistakes on the users which really gets me, more than the problems themselves.

I mean, yes okay, perhaps they need an extended off-season to carry out maintenence etc, and yes, perhaps there were unavoidable problems with Twenty20, but that doesn't help me, when my club loses £25K a week for every week without cricket! It's the same with FC, and all the planning and alterations people made with that in mind.

Burying their heads in the sand is no way to run things - And it would be a hell of a shame if users started to drift away, as I think the game now is really starting to take shape and become what it was intended to be.

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
Yeah, the complete lack of both communication and accountability is getting ridiculous. How difficult is it to just let us know what's happening? All these postponements and most of all failures to communicate adequately with the user base are really damaging BT's credibility.

Thought there was something wrong with my World Cup link. But there`s just nothing there.

Bad Administators
A rather embarressing mess up of the semi-final draw was previously made. The four semi-finalists should have actually been England, Australia, Pakistan and West Indies. The fixtures have now been corrected. Good luck to the four countries.

TBH how typical.

Arthur Ricketts - 17 yo, BT Rating=7,814
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, invigorated
A steady player with superb leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: feeble
Bowling: proficient Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: feeble

Is he even worth training?
It turns out he has been trained for 4 weeks since popping to Proficient and 2 since Competant stamina, so maybe not such a bad buy afterall.

this is what hes been getting

This player last recorded net sessions on 01/01/2007 were:
2 bowling net session(s)
1 fielding session(s)
1 fitness session(s)

Just noticed Fitness level and Morale have been reset as well as not being able to make a YP. So the new season will start as suggested.

Not a bad Idea but obviously you will have to get that Fielding Net on soon.

My Fitness and Morale have not been reset what time did your some through?
think it will happen when you have financcial updates. Inly got home about an hour ago so im guessing it happened then.

BARNES OUT
Things are happening on Battrick. Wow, kind of expected a message saying "The next season has been delayed until the season after." or something else as ridiculous.

Oh well at least the right semi-finals were achieved... eventually. Transfer market at the moment is completely insane, think I'm going to have to wait til the season starts to buy anyone at this rate (I'm not paying over the odds when I'm not going to finish first without some real upsets and I doubt I'll finish out of the top 4 even with my current best side). Since there's not a big difference financially in winning or losing the odd extra league game I figure I should wait.

Oh and trev I've weakened my batting a bit.

I've just decided to sign up (seems I picked the wrong time...)

Anyway, does anyone have any starter's advice for me to get my team on the right track? It seems that all I have is deadwood.

Copy and paste your squad on here, you should have 2 PR Officers and 3-6 Sports Psychologists. You should have 10 coaches before monday training takes place (but leave that for the moment, it costs a few grand if you have to fire coaches you've decided you don't want now).

There's also a thread started by Thomas a bit lower down the page "Cricketweb Newbie Guide to Battrick" or something, whihc should come in handy.

PY

They obviously aren't interested in getting newbies started on BT. That's a shocking starting squad....

Nate

You'll Never Walk Alone
Agreed, unlucky Halsey. My mate Haffy (playing Wright tomorrow actually) got a gun starting squad though. 13 players 3000 or above or something.
