Last ten overs, run rate is 1.7. Good solid cricket. Good thing they didn't take Turbinator's advice or we'd be six down on this pitch.
They needto hurry....time's running out

Hurry for what? They needto hurry....time's running out
Yeah, all Smith, I think. The Indians bowlers did tighten up, but Kallis and Prince didn't really show much urgency, either.I think SAffies started really well (scoring at 3.67) but then on the third day India pulled it back.
There should be an award, that is for the worst shot of the week. Can`t believe Ganguly got out to that shot. Played it a few balls before, got angry at himself... so plays it again.
Does he win the Inzy?
What's the point? Sehwag would win it every week. In fact, it should be named after him. There should be an award, that is for the worst shot of the week.
Um, we're going for a draw here.to bowl South Africa out
Um, we're going for a draw here.
Yes, it should be named after Sehwag. But he won't play every week. And plus I think Gangulys shot was worse. What's the point? Sehwag would win it every week. In fact, it should be named after him.
Yeah, I understand what you mean, now. In the end, the umpires perhaps should have stopped play, and then it would have been a much neater resolution, rules wise. In the long run though I can't say I'm terribly unhappy with the outcome, providing the umpires were solely responsible for the confusion.Nah, this was clearly poor wording on my part. What I meant by extenuating circumstances was something which caused the game to be stopped. If there was a crowd riot or an injury to the batsman coming in, the umpires would stop play and the batsman couldn't be dismissed timed out. That's a different situation from everyone standing around for three minutes while Ganguly put his pads on, unless the umpires see that as a situation where they should stop play, which they didn't.
Just to quote the law for reference:
"Time being called" is your allowance for "common sense" which people are talking about. As I understand it, the umpires can call time at any point where they feel the game has been interrupted and cannot continue. If they don't do that, which they didn't, then Ganguly was definitely out if the appeal was made.
I agree actually. In fact, we could have several "real" cricket awards. Only problem is, the judges would have to have access to every match played at international level in the week (or at least all the dismissals) and that isn't really practical without some serious organisation. There should be an award, that is for the worst shot of the week.
There is uneven bounce, lots of turn from the rough, and Pollock is reversing the ball. Run making is hard. Can anybody please enlighten me what has happened to the game ?? Are they playing for a draw or run making has become very tough?
Run making fairly tough, IMO, and a few close calls for the batsmen. Can anybody please enlighten me what has happened to the game ?? Are they playing for a draw or run making has become very tough?
