Opening with Steyn makes sense in terms of the future, but not when you're going into the final test all tied up. India have managed to own themselves against the new ball anyways, so it hasn't exactly hurt SA in this series.
Its always good to look to the future, but when someone is clearly your best bowler and he's been the one thats clearly been doing the most against the opposition, there is no reason not to open with him.

Fair point that it hasn't hurt them as much, but IMO with Pollock they could have had even bigger rewards. 30-40 less runs per innings in the first match is a big thing.

The umpire in this series has been horrible. Actually it went past horrible. So any kind of decision could be given.
Haha, I thought you were implying that Sehwag is such a dolt he'd still play at balls he's not supposed to.

That was a premeditated forward block/shot by Ganguly. I don't know if its a good idea to have too many premeditated shots against Pollock :).
