Description
Martyn's addition to the WCC Hall of Fame was met with some surprise, his First Class record isnt all that flash for a player of his quality but his contribution to Western Australia was massive. His match winning hundred in the final round of season 4 perfectly illustrated what his career was all about, he was often overshadowed by the higher profile players like Langer and Gilchrist but he got WA out of a crisis on more than one occassion. Averaging nearly 50 in one day cricket, he often played his best knocks in the shorter version of the game. scoring three hundreds in his short career his record will stand the test of time. His 478 run season for WA in Season 4 was by far his best and helped guide his team out of trouble. He was definately a match winner on his day and an outstanding WCC player.
