Umpires: Billy Doctrove

Full name: Billy Raymond Doctrove
Born: July 3, 1955, Marigot, Dominica

Billy Doctrove Having umpired his first Test match in May 2000, Billy Doctrove had to wait over six years before being elevated to the elite umpiring panel, a surprising wait for such an obviously competent umpire.

Doctrove is also a qualified FIFA Football referee having officiated at the highest level. He is such a keen Football follower that he is nicknamed Toshack after the Liverpool striker.

Doctrove was involved in one of the most controversial moments in cricket history, when he and fellow umpire Darrell Hair awarded a Test match to England in 2006, when their opposition Pakistan failed to return to the field.

Doctrove was seen as the junior umpire, and managed to avoid most of the media driven maelstrom, which followed the Test match.
