Umpires: Asad Rauf

Full name: Asad Rauf
Born: May 12, 1956, Lahore, Punjab

Asad Rauf Calm and benevolently officious would be an apt description of Asad Rauf on the cricket field. Having played over 70 first class cricket matches Rauf looks contently at home on the most prestigious cricket fields of the world.

Having umpired his first Test in Chittagong in December 2005, Rauf was quickly elevated to the elite umpire panel in April 2006.

Asad Rauf showed great composure when being subjected to a number of aggressive appeals by the Australians during the 2006 Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Rauf remained unflustered, earning the respect of the players and crowd alike leaving no one in doubt that he will be a quality international umpire for many years to come.
