Zimbabwe 'A' v Australia 'A' v South Africa 'A'

So nice to see an Australian team at 100/0.

Aaron Finch is a very impressive cricketer, I would love to see him have an 800+ season for Victoria this summer, providing he plays enough matches. Personally he would make my Australian T20 and ODI teams for sure.
Same, Finch is definitely one of my favourite batsmen in domestic cricket. Good, agressive batsmen who can play full and short bowling equally well. The Zimbabwe bowlers are being treated with total disdain here.

I'm hoping Khawaja gets a big score sometime soon as well, Hughes, Warner and Finch have all scored big.

How awesome is this scorecard? Three or four hours ago it appeared Zimbabwe had made a decent effort.

Warner hasn't put a foot wrong this tour. Wonder what it will take for people to change their perceptions of him.
I changed my perceptions of him last season when I saw watched him bat in a few Shield games. I actually think he's a lot more suited to First Class cricket than the 50 over stuff at the moment.

300 looked like it was a decent score for Zim. Warner and Finch were on fire, but i have to say Jarvis was wayward. i guess Greg Chapell has a big smile on his face now that Warner scored some decent runs in the four dayers.

The way he was playing in the T20s last season was a perfect knock for 50 over matches, really this season should be his breakout one in the two longer formats. He certainly shown he has what it takes in FC, just a case of finding a spot for him now in the packed NSW lineup.

Would love to see a Warner and Finch opening combo in the ODIs.

Even though I realize this is Zimbabwe, I am starting to think that Warner might just one day play tests. I think they should make him a top contender to play ODIs now at least.

And hopefully this means Krejza is out for good now. They might want to look at other options for Seamers too because Siddle aint doing too good.

^ Siddle got 4 here, although I haven't been following this series and don't really like Siddle.

Warner itstl

Now 0-207 and Warner has a 50.15 FC average :)
Awesome stuff! Really happy for both openers.

If we assume Watson, Clarke, Haddin are playing Tests I would pick Warner in my NSW Shield team, especially when you consider Khawaja and/or possibly Smith could be playing too. At full strength Warner wouldn't make it though.

Pretty crazy that Hughes, Watson, Katich, Khawaja, Maddinson, Warner, Jaques, could all do a good job opening for NSW - Haddin too in the shorter formats.

The only issue with getting Warner to play all our ODIs is that it stuffs up the amount of games he gets to play in first class cricket. This has hindered the first class records of players such as Marsh, Paine and Ferguson (injuries have played a part too). I think the Aussie selectors feel that batsman getting International exposure in ODI's is of more benefit to their Test chances then playing Shield Cricket..

So many people don't rate Shaun Marsh due to his career first class average, but if they looked at his performances just from recent years they would understand that he's been doing well, in limited opportunities.

Regarding Siddle.. He's the first bowler picked in our Test team, IMO. Yes, I'm a P-Siddy fan.

He struggled with the one dayers until the final, but since then he's done brilliantly. You have to respect that he didn't take the soft option and move interstate, but he's fought to prove he deserves an opening spot for NSW. No arguments now I'd say.
He was very tough not to get more matches lat season, what with that period when he hit a double in the futures, a ton in grade and then a 90 odd...the day after a match in perth 2 number 8 or 9. but alas we were having to play 6 bowlers......

i'll assume it'll be something like:

Warner
Maddinson
Katich
Rohrer
Jaques
Smith
Nevill
O'Keefe
Copeland
Starc/Hazlewood
Dougeh

for most of the season. def. don't want Warner anywhere near the ODI squad. He was terrible last summer.

extremely tough on Moises although he does his best stuff as a bowler anyway

Yea true it doesn't seem as jammed this season as Henriques shouldn't be a automatic selection and Roher isn't a must pick either. Certainly is crazy how a side can have that many openers. Guessing Katich will drop down to 4 so comes down to Maddinson, Warner and Jaques for the 2 spots.

Yeah it will be something similar to the team you've mentioned. I wonder if Cummins will play, he should considering he has a Cricket Australia contract, but you never know.

Today hasn't started as well for Aus A, 289 run partnership broken and then Khawaja out first ball! This is looking really good for Warner, hopefully he gets a double ton. I reckon selectors really begin to start noticing batsman when they score 200s. It's helped Khawaja and Paine IMO..
