as understood by the great folk of this site, 30s is incomparable to 70s Cricket due to standards of sports raising, which is a fair argument considering rise in fitness, sports science and yada yada

Because it's sort of understood there is more parity and standardization between 70s to now than 30s to now.
Agreed. Not sure why some people are in denial about the standard of the sport being higher in the modern era. It’s just common sense lol.
thus logically, Cricket of 1970s is incomparable to the modern game, in last 50 years sports has developed further than it did from 30s to 70s objectively, and thus everyone from today would fodderize people from 70s, so how about the 5ft 4 fat uncle from 1970s standing to the 6ft 5 genetic freak amped by modern day medical science, Zak Crawley.

does Gavaskar stand a chance?

lol hypocritical vote for Gavaskar in, imagine thinking a 5'4 fat uncle from 70s can overcome 50 years of sports developement and evolution and be better than a 6'5 muscular freak from the modern game.

Gavaskar is probably comparable to Rakheem Cornwall in batting without the strength.
