Left arm seamers of the last 30 years (post Bruce Reid* who I didn't see enough of):

Wasim
Wagner
Johnson
Boult
Starc
Vaas
Shaheen (might end up higher on list)
Bollinger
Sidebottom
Amir
Zaheer
Junaid
O'Connor
Pathan
Franklin
Mulally
Wahab
S Curran (surprisingly good T20 bowler though - is young enough to improve his test record)
Collins

* Could be number 2, but certainly in the top 5

My sense is that Zaheer ended up a more well-rounded bowler, skilled with old and new ball.

But Vaas delivered the goods more consistently at home. I don't know why Zaheer was so poor at home when Srinath and Kapil were much stronger.

Vaas also had a key role early in his career in away wins in NZ and Pakistan. I think combined with his strong home record, I lean towards him.

I bowled faster than Chaminda Vaas

That said, most of Zaheer's career he was poo.

I'll call it even in tests. Vaas obviously in ODIs
