Your nations Under 23 team

How about Coulter-Nile instead of Pattinson? About as much experience but better stats, handier with the bat and he's properly quick if that is what you are looking for.

And James Faulkner could get in ahead of Mitch Marsh (much as I hate writing that ) nice to have a leftie, no make that ahead of Mitchell Starc.

I really like the look of Coulter-Nile. Hopefully he gets a game when WA are full strength.

He's already turned 23 though.

Didn't pick Coulter-Nile, Wade, or Lyon as they are all almost 24 now, but they'd all make the 12. Carters I'd be happy to swap with Triffet or anyone else who stuck their hand up, and relying heavily on Smith and Maxwell for spin, but that is a pretty strong top 4 and a strong pace attack with variety including left arm and swing. So many good young quicks to choose from. Starc, McDermott, Walker, Cummins and maybe even Bills wouldn't look out of place. Hill, Keath and Beaton provide batting depth.

Solid lineup. Neser is a surprise and he looks out of place at number 11. More of an all rounder through out his career.

Jos Buttler a shout too? And I think Craig Meschede could be a decent back-up player by the time he's 22-23.

Yeah no doubt Jos Buttler is a shout. Alot of ability. Just went for Bairstow as he averages about 15 more in FC cricket and plays at Headingly instead of Taunton. Apparently Buttler scored a cracking ton yesturday though. One for the limited overs no doubt. Average of 60 and strike rate of 147 is sick even if it is only 900 runs.

Surprised Mitch Marsh isn't in your starting XI. Heard a ton of good things about him.

I had Marsh in there originally, but switched him over for Maxwell for balance. I'm a huge Marsh fan and rate him highly, but a 2nd spinner would be more useful and Marsh wouldn't quite cut it as either a specialist batsman or bowler IMO.

I see, whats the score with Nathan Lyons? Does anyone really know or is it a case of grooming someone who turns the ball? Talk about throwing him in at the deep end though. Sri Lanka away

Yeah I didn't actually put any thought into batting order 9-11, but knew someone would say Neser should be higher. I agree. 9 is the right spot for him in that line up, which just makes the batting quite long. I like the little I've seen of him.

I would see Marsh in direct competition with someone like Faulkner for a spot, and at the present time Faulkner has him well covered.

Here's a video of him.
He looked pretty decent in the T/20s, the arm ball that got Maddinson (0:51 in the video) was very, very good.

Considering the rest of the spin stocks in Australia at the moment (and the selectors refusing to go back to Hauritz), he's our best bet. Would have liked to hold off on him until next winter though and given him a full Shield season to get some sort of experience.

Good England team there. I agree with most although instead of Whiteley I'd have Jos Buttler. I've heard good things about Danny Briggs in the limited overs formats but not so much the four day game. Jason Roy would also be a good shout.
