78* of 35 overs
that felt good, my first half century....wasn't my best ever innings...but getting a 50 felt so good.

6/17 in 8 overs
also this year playing in the 2nd XI, with an ankle the size of a peach! well strepped in, and almost won us the game after a abysmal batting display...

International Vice-Captain
West Midlands U13s Cup 2004

Sutton Coldfield 116-2 beat Walmey 114-5 by eight wickets.

A Crampton 58* (35)

Had an absolutely gun season that year, best way to top it off.

Well I mentioned this in another thread but Im still on a bit of a high.

- Scoring 2 and winning man of the match on Saturday at FNB stadium. 80 000 seater stadium where the 2010 World Cup final will be played

also
- My first Test match net duty as a very young up-and-comer against the West Indies in 91 (IIRC)
and finally
- My 1st ton. A low standard game but the club framed the scorecard and it still has pride of place in my study.

probably my first century, was 96* after the first week so had to go back and bat again the following Saturday, i finished with 115. My Highest innings comes close, made 175 one time and it was just as good as i could possibly bat.

captaining a premiership a few years ago was pretty good too, the whole season was great personally, averaged 45 with the bat and 14 with the ball.

Outside of cricket it would probably be my badminton feats. Was the #1 player in the college sides and i had to play some awesome players and i was pretty happy with the way i went.

Also playing rep Rugby League when i was a bit younger was a bit of a thrill, unfortunately i ended up retiring pretty young.

Mine would have to be my Rugby League days...

Representing Wests from U13's to U16's and Captaining my Club side in Under 15's to a Premiership, Scoring 3 Tries in the 2nd half of the Final after being KO'd in the 1st...

Being on a hat trick, tossing a leggy up and the batsman top edging it straight up into the air.

That moment ends though 2 seconds later when my mate drops the catch.

Pulled off some amazing speccies, ala Shaun Smith. Really when you get up that high on the top of a pack and take the mark, there is no better feeling.

BARNES OUT
Had some good moments in cricket and league. cbf naming them all.

Best moment was easily kicking a field goal to win a qualifying final in u/16's league. Was from 30 out, too, which is pretty big for a 15 year old.

Scoring from the halfway line from my position as DL when 11.

Scoring the winning runs from number 10 when we'd made a shambles of chasing 120 in 40 overs.

7/8 off 11 overs vs Plymouth in the UK.

- actually, it's playing against NSW in a one off match and taking 1/45 off 9...and being bowled by a ball from Don Nash that I didn't really see...and hitting M.Bevan in the testicles

Plymouth have been doing that to everyone else instead this year... some guy took a 10-fer in one the divisions.

For me...
1) Being in the middle when my Exeter CC six-a-side team (average age 14) chased down 69 off five overs this summer.
2) Xpression FM FC winning the Third Division of the Intramural League

And there are individual saves and double-saves goalkeeping that rank pretty highly on retrospect.

Surprisingly none of my 4 junior hat-tricks rate. Poor opposition I suppose.

One of my favourite moments is going in at number 11 needing 35 to avoid the follow on. Last ball before drinks I actually play an aggressive stroke, call for the run, but get sent back by my partner (now on 52). Go to drinks, come back, he's bowled first ball. In our partnership of 32 I managed a wonderful 0*(31), and we (obviously) failed to avoid the follow on. Was a great sense of achievement doing my job as a tail ender though.

Also getting cleaned up by a 6'6" 140kg goalie in Hockey was pretty awesome, when I'm now 6'4" and 64kg. He was my goalie too, it was funnier because I'd run all the way from our attacking 25yd line to tackle the opponent (who started at the halfway mark), then we finally hit the D and he just jumps out of the way. I am then left wondering why I'm flat on my back.
