Your Favorite and Most Dreaded Cricketing Sights ...

Pedro Delgado

International Debutant
Favourite:

1. Warne. I hope he goes on until his arm drops off. We're watching history here, appreciate it.
2. England scaring the bejesus out of the Aussies. It won't happen often.
3. The gentleman Indians; I love the fact Sreesanth called Nasser "Sir" when he was introduced, it's terribly patronising to like this stuff but bugger it, I'm a romantic. Gentleman Indians are brilliant, more of them please. Tik hai, sahib?
4. Simon Jones. The 94th most handsome man in the world and a wonderful bowler, Welsh to boot, you have to hand it to the miserablists sometimes, they hear nothing but sheep and Mahler from day one you know.
5. Introducing my fiancee (and any stranger) to cricket and seeing the love affair with the game begin. There's not much I evangelise about, but cricket I do so. That and opium.
6. Flintoff's capacity for booze. Egad sir, I bow down to thee.
6. Year of the Cat - Al Stewart.
7. The Who.

Dreaded:

1. Rain/bad light. Booooooooooooo.
2. English spinners and the lack thereof. Okay I know, the pitches are seam-friendly and we can't produce them but come on, India produced Kapil ffs. What happened to Underwood that's what I want to know. Left cricket, joined the R.A.F, played bloody Rugby Union for a bit and where is he now?? Probably giving seminars on how to be a right winger 8-) your country needs you ffs, we want spin you selfish ****.
3. Mu-Mu whingers. So they moved the goalposts. Get over it already.
4. Drunky. You are class. Get a half-class attitude you ****.
5. Shahid Afridi. Stop it. Allah disapproves of cheating buffoons. Just stop it.
6. Mariah Carey.

Ahh Jeez, 16 years man? Give us a break. As for Carey, have you heard her bat, bowl, field or sing? She's not even fit for cult hero status man.

International 12th Man
Favourite:

Lara in full flow is simply glorious
Flintoff bowling when he's on, which has been rather often of late thankfully
Harmison batting is just hillarious (and occasionally suprisingly effective!)
Shane Warne in the middle of a masterful spell
Good running between the wickets, I just love seeing those hair's breadth singles and breakneck twos

Dreaded:

Ricky Ponting batting aginst England, he's just so good at the moment it's almost unfair
Keepers dropping easy catches, you've got gloves on fer chrissakes!
Slow outfields, I think that good fielding, batting and running is better rewarded with speedy outfields
Batsmen playing sensibly for a good 50 or so then throwing it away in a mindless slog (looking at you KP and Freddie...)
Rain, at any stage, of any match, anywhere

Favourite:

Mark Richardson turning round to the Perth crowd and pumping his fists after catching Warne for 99... :D

Favourite:
1) Warnie. Whatever he's doing, bowling, batting, smoking on tv, texting, all classic :)
2) Seeing opponents rise to the challenge of playing Aust, be it Laxman, Lara, or Vaughan. (although I'll admit I like it until we lose the series then sulk :) )
3) The McGrath/Gillespie partnership where they both scored fifties. McGrath, Australia's true bowling allrounder.
4) G. Smith returning to the pavilion for not much courtesy of Brett Lee. (I know, I'm a small man in many ways
5) Bangers and other minnows doing well/

Dreaded:
1) Hayden, Gilchrist, Clarke, etc deciding in tests, you know what, context of the match be damned, I'm going to playing like we're 2/400 and holing out with silly shots.
2) Seeing players and teams who play well against everyone else letting themselves get overawed by the Aussies and, as opposed to be outplayed in a good contest, simply failing to rise to the occasion.
3) Mark Boucher swearing at a kid autograph hunter whilst returning to the pavilion during this year's boxing day test at the MCG.
3) Life for the Australian team once Warne and McGrath leave.

Pretty Aus-centric, but what can you do?

FAVOURITE:

Lee running in to bowl & unleashing a thunderbolt
Akhtar in full cry
Warne bowling & batting
McGrath bowling well
Lara batting well
Freddie hitting out
Gilchrist on the attack
Afridi on fire
Ponting on the pull shot
England 4-man attack bowling well & running through batting line-ups (except vs Australia)

DREADED:

When Australia lose spectaculary (Kolkatta 2001, adelaide 2003, Jo'burg 2006, Antigua 2004) to name a few.

rain interruption, especially when team are close to winning
when teams go off for bad light
crowds at test matches in england (other than during the ashes they are bloody boring)
Gillespie with long hair

State 12th Man
Favourite:
- Seeing a part-timer come on to bowl
- England being competitive
- Two sides neutral to me playing
- Batsmen having a smile after just missing a jaffa or ducking a bouncer
- Nel starting to get wound-up
- Bangladesh doing well
- A debutant performing well.
- ICC getting it right

Dreaded:
- Aussies dominating a team
- England getting blown away or throwing it away
- Bad light or the covers coming on
- ICC getting it wrong
- Nel starting to get wound-up (again)
- Promising young players not fulfilling their potential
- Gojo giving more ammo to his critics
- Arrogant or childish behavior
- Indian board throwing it's weight around recently

Kirstens face with a combination of all the colors of the rainbow at the post game conference, after Akhtars ball went through the helmet and hit em in the letf side of the face.

the best, Davis scoring the fastest fifty in world cup history. That felt GOOOOOOOOD.

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Favourite:

Flintoff taking a wicket
Pietersen/Flintoff hitting six
Ponting getting wound up
Bangladesh being Australia's bogey team
Hearing the mass cheers for Afridi walking out to the middle, then watching the stadium empty as his stumps are removed by Mr Flintoff first ball. I'm sorry, but it made me chuckle heartily.
The Ashes, because an Englishman can look at them in the knowledge they belong to us

Dreaded:

You know how it goes, for any team anywhere (except Aus), you need a partnership, it's vital, Warne appeals for lbw. The wait is agony, and then comes the sight you dread....up goes the finger, and another victim on Shane's list :@
Waking up on Sunday morning wondering how badly the England ODI side is getting belted about today (turns out we never got the chance lol)
Next year's Ashes, as much as I'm looking forwards to them, to lose now would be a worse feeling than any of the other contests of Aussie domination, I believe

Not sure really, just something I think I picked up on after reading some of his posts. Could be wrong though.
