70mph at 18, top effort, mate.Recently turned 18.
Indoors, shmindoors, pace is measured before pitching. How far before varies, but it is always before.Aye, indoors though and that's at absolute tops.
Top stuff, Second XI Premier is a good level.Well the Second XI Premier game went surprisingly not-disastrously yesterday - bowled dreadfully in my opening 2 overs and my 7th but my 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th were pretty damn good, and got 1 wicket with a beauty of an inswinger-to-the-left-hander.
Perhaps even more remarkably, I batted in a sunhat and scored 23*. Which was the second-best score, my dad coming third with 23 of his own. Was dropped off an easy caught-and-bowled on what must've been about 17 mind, so don't take that at face value, and the bowling was woeful.
Even so, most of the bowling I face under normal circumstances is every bit as bad and 17 is my best score for about 7 years.
I don't think that I am being too excessive though. It is not as if I am attempting to bench 80kg, it is all pretty simple stuff with lightish weights, if any at all.I'm no expert, but you shouldn't be hitting the gym too hard as a young bloke. My Uncle (who has played rugby and cricket to a pretty decent level) never wanted me to do weights until I was 18, as it can be very detrimental to your physical growth if you go to hard as a youngster.
And I see your second team bowled out Plymouth CS for 36. So did you stay up? We did, though we got thrashed by Countess Wear. We went in three bowlers light and got smashed for 268-2 dec. featuring 151* from a Zimbabwean who had played for Matabeleland in the 80s- he then took 6-23 in our innings, including me for 6. We were all out for 173, though we still got the points we needed to be safe.Well the Second XI Premier game went surprisingly not-disastrously yesterday - bowled dreadfully in my opening 2 overs and my 7th but my 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th were pretty damn good, and got 1 wicket with a beauty of an inswinger-to-the-left-hander.

Where? You just made that up didnt you?Swervy, do you play in the Aire-Wharfe League or the Ribblesdale league? Assuming that is, that you still live in Keighley.
I dont play in anything as lofty as those...hehehe..I am in the Bradford Mutual, where the standard is, shall we say, up and down, just like the pitchesSwervy, do you play in the Aire-Wharfe League or the Ribblesdale league? Assuming that is, that you still live in Keighley.
I beleive Joe Scuderi (Italy captain?) plays in the Ribblesdale now...international captain!!!!Haha, it does sound like I made it up, but it does exist, believe it or not.
Which team did you play for in the Aire-Wharfe league, Kev?
South Devon 2s clearly don't belong in that league at all though, they were barely better than several teams 5 divisions below them (excepting the single first-team player who scored 121 - dropped on 83 - and was easily the standout bowler too).Top stuff, Second XI Premier is a good level.
Still haven't found-out TBH.And I see your second team bowled out Plymouth CS for 36. So did you stay up?
