No Weekes,Walcott,Worrell,Gilchrist,Hall,Roberts let alone Headley aka "The Black Bradman"For the Windies, based on actual history,
1. Sobers
2. Lara
3. Lloyd*
4. Richards
5. Kanhai
6. Gomes
7. Solomon
8. Dujon(wk)
9. Walsh
10. Ambrose
11. Gibbs
But, if history had gone differently, my gramps Ivor Mendonca would replace Dujon as keeper and #7.
Yeah, he was actually that good.
I would agree that the 3 W's would be in my team but Roy Gilchrist? No Weekes,Walcott,Worrell,Gilchrist,Hall,Roberts let alone Headley aka "The Black Bradman"
Career StatisticsI would agree that the 3 W's would be in my team but Roy Gilchrist?
He must have been a better player then those figures suggest as they are pretty ordinary tbh mateCareer Statistics
Test Matches
From 1957 to 1959, Roy played in 13 test matches. He took fifty seven wickets at an average of 26.68. His best bowling figures were 6 for 55. Roy also scored 60 runs at an average of 5.45, with a highest score of 12. He took 4 catches in his test career.
First Class Games
In his 42 first class games, Roy took 167 wickets at an average of 26.00, with a best bowling of 6 for 16. He also scored 258 runs at an average of 7.81, with a highest score of 43 not out. He also took 10 catches.
While he was a very volatile character he would have to be in very serious consideration for an all time WI side
faulkner was a splendid wrist spinner. since he can add more variety to this bowling attack (donald, p.pollock and s.pollock - pace. tayfield - off spin. kallis - fast medium) i prefer him as the all-rounder to proctor. No Colin Bland or Mike Proctor???
Will send you a story about himHe must have been a better player then those figures suggest as they are pretty ordinary tbh mate
cool, thanksWill send you a story about him
I think I would have Greenidge over HunteHmm I'll do a West Indian one because they're more fun that Australia lol
1.D Haynes
2.C Hunte
3.G Headley
4.V Richards*
5.B Lara
6.G Sobers
7.J Dujon+
8.M Marshall
9.M Holding
10.C Ambrose
11.J Garner
Very harsh on the 3 W's and Lance Gibbs, but neither of those 3 were openers and I just couldnt bring myself to pick them over either of Lara, Richards, Headley or Sobers. Also couldnt leave out any of those 4 quicks and Sobers bowled spin.
No Marshall? Think I would have him and Ambrose ahead of Hall and Griffith (sic) tbhTEAM[in batting order]
